What Renters Like and Dislike

What Renters Like and Dislike About Sunnyside Portland

The unique thing about the neighborhood is the lack of racial and national diversity. That is a bad thing. There are a couple of nice cafes within walking distance. I don't do too much with family and friends in the neighborhood.

I like that it's very quiet. I like that it's a secluded canyon . And I also like that by driving I can be in an area to do errands in 10 minutes.

I live very close to the Americana on Brand, beautiful area to have a dinner and drink, very kid friendly with great grass area to play on. Live music, there is a big mall close as well with all the favorite shops

We live in a canyon with our own elementary school, 2 parks and lots of scenic walking trails. The school ties us together and has made it easy to make family friendships. Halloween is the absolute best, as there's one road that closes and hosts what is more like a block party. Even the adults join in and come in costume.

What is unique about my neighborhood is the amount of families that live here. I love the fact that the area i live in I'm close to groceries, shopping, and entertainment. Favorite restaurants with friends and family are Din Tai Fung, R101 Ramen, Eden on Brand.

Nearby markets. Convenient shops, clean streets and goods neighbors safe neighborhood. Good schools.

All About

Living in Portland, OR

Getting to Know Sunnyside, OR

This extremely walkable and bikeable neighborhood is in Southeast Portland and claims the motto of "Proud past, bright future." Many vintage bungalows and Victorians homes still exist here, but townhomes and condos are becoming more of the norm. There is a young and vibrant community due to a large portion of the area being renters. And, homes are more affordable compared to its Laurelhurst and Mount Tabor neighbors. The lure of Sunnyside is accessibility and plenty of locally-owned shops along SE Belmont Street. Stumptown Coffee is a favorite (You can always tell based on how long the lines are outside the shops.), as well as the unique vintage shop called Noun.
