What Renters Like and Dislike About South Clintonville Columbus

We live at what used to be the edge of the city--the community was designed for summer fun along the river and our place was built on the site of a former amusement park and enormous pool. We can easily walk to at least seven restaurants and bars (we don't drink) with a lot of varitey--Chinese, American, Mexican, Lebanese etc. There are specialty groceries, upscale grocery and supermarket within walking distance. There is a library, park, rec center and swimming pool.

It's close to several bus lines and grocery stores/markets. There is an unofficial dog park, which is very useful since we don't have a lawn. There is a great Chinese restaurant within a five minute walk.

Living in Columbus, OH

South Clintonville is a neighborhood of Columbus that is located about 6 miles north of the downtown area. Apartments for rent in South Clintonville are close to major highways that provide access to Columbus and nearby cities. Renters will also enjoy the proximity of the neighborhood to The Ohio State University, which is situated less than 2 miles from South Clintonville. Beautiful parks and great location make this area a standout. 

Recreation in South Clintonville

South Clintonville renters can benefit from the many natural resources of north Columbus. The Wilma H. Schiermeier Olentangy River Wetland Research Park is minutes down the road from South Clintonville apartment rentals, and is managed by The Ohio State University. The site is mainly used in the research of the natural sciences department at the school, but the public can check out the wetland and its wildlife by accessing the Sandefur Observation Pavilion. There are also several trails that weave around the park that offer stunning views of the local environment, including the Olentangy Greenway Trail. The Clinton-Como Park is close to apartments for rent in South Clintonville as well. This green space features athletic fields, a basketball court, a baseball diamond and more. Renters can also bring their bikes over and ride along the Olentangy Greenway Bike Trail, which passes through surrounding neighborhoods and leads straight to Columbus.

The Ohio State University is essentially right outside South Clintonville renters' front doors. OSU has consistently been ranked as one of the top 20 public universities in the country by publications such as U.S. News & World Report, and offers students a variety of academic concentrations, useful resources and an exciting athletics program. South Clintonville apartment rentals are great for university students looking to strike out on their own while still staying close to the center of action. 

Getting Around Central Ohio

There are many easy ways to get around the North Columbus area. Major highways such as I-71 and OH-315 are within minutes of apartments for rent in South Clintonville, so renters with cars can easily get where they need to go. Cycling is another great option, especially for students, as there are many bike racks around the OSU campus. For those in a crunch, plenty of bus routes run through the neighborhood and can take you all around Columbus.
