Northgate is a suburban community in the city of Columbus. Apartments for rent in Northgate are conveniently located between Route 161 and I-270, making for quick travel into the capital's downtown. The density of schools and parks in Northgate makes it a great location for families and nature-lovers. 

Recreation in the Northgate Area

Northgate's Northgate Park features tennis courts and several athletic fields for people trying to work on their serve or play pick-up soccer. Another recreation area near Northgate apartment rentals is Beechcroft Park. Beechcroft Park is great for anyone with small kids or people focused on fitness. It has a playground and swings, grassy fields for sports and a walking path for exercise. The park also abuts the Northgate Community Center, with its community pool offering some relief from the heat in the summer. Beechcroft is very close to the high school's athletic fields, basketball courts, running track, baseball diamond and tennis courts for some structured athletics. In addition to being close to several shopping plazas, apartments in Northgate are close to Columbus Square Bowling Palace the Consumers' Choice-winning bowling alley, arcade, restaurant and bar. But for residents really interested in getting in touch with nature, all they need to do is look north, to the massive 761-acre Sharon Woods Metropolitan Park. The park offers area outdoor enthusiasts a spot to hike, bike and explore - check out the Spring Hollow Lodge for a rustic picnic.

Education Opportunities in Northgate

Northgate is part of the Columbus City School District, with several schools right in the neighborhood. Alpine Elementary School serves the children in Northgate from kindergarten through fifth grade. Once children graduate from Alpine, they move onto the Beechcroft Junior High School, which shares a campus with the Beechcroft High School. The high school outlines its main goal as helping every student reach his or her full potential and become a productive member of society through college, military service or entrepreneurship. Renters without children can still watch the Beechcroft Cougars thump the competition on the football field or basketball court.

Finding Your Way Around North Columbus

Northgate apartment rentals are near several major roads that make getting around a breeze. Commuting renters can take the easy 12-mile trip down I-71 South to go downtown in about 17 minutes. Commuting to The Ohio State University, not downtown? Not a problem, as Northgate renters can take I-71 South to The Ohio State University too, - it's only about 9 miles. Port Columbus International Airport is just a quick 17-minute drive west on the 270 Outerbelt. Bus 35 brings Northgate residents downtown with crossovers for other directions.
