Conveniently located about halfway between downtown Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, Miracle Mile is an eclectic neighborhood with a rich history. As one of the nation's first automobile-friendly shopping districts, it once vied with Los Angeles's downtown district for commercial prominence and hosted the world's first parking garages, dedicated turn lanes and timed traffic lights. Also known as Mid-Wilshire, Miracle Mile isn't far from other popular Los Angeles neighborhoods like Hollywood and Studio City. It's also home to a number of prominent attractions that draw visitors from across the L.A. Basin.

Miracle Mile Attractions

Miracle Mile is an important cultural hub for Southern California. Once the heart of the recording industry, the area still houses well-regarded record labels and producers like Big Sounds International. Meanwhile, the "Museum Row" district around beautiful Hancock Park is home to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Craft & Folk Art Museum and the A & D Museum. Museum Row isn't just for traditional art and culture aficionados: The district also houses the kid-friendly Petersen Automotive Museum and the La Brea Tar Pits Museum. It's also part of the award-winning Los Angeles Unified School District and receives efficient power and water service from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

Miracle Mile Natural Beauty

Although Miracle Mile sits in the west-central part of the L.A. Basin, it's blessed with beautiful views of the Hollywood Hills and San Gabriel Mountains. It's also just a short jaunt from the beaches of Santa Monica and Venice. Joggers and yoga enthusiasts love the shady paths and winding trails of Hancock Park, and serious outdoors enthusiasts flock to rugged open spaces like Franklin Canyon Park and Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park.
