Getting to Know Downtown, Portland, OR

Downtown Portland is definitely where the tourists come to play. But, residents don't mind sharing this walkable waterfront oasis. This buzzing neighborhood is filled with indie boutiques and dining options, including food trucks, high-end bistros and the sometimes-too-popular Voodoo Donuts (expect a long line). It is the place to be on weekends for the Portland Saturday Market in Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Vendors sell crafts, art, jewelry and food, while live music plays in the background. During the summer, there is always an outdoor festival or concert happening in the area. But, parking is hard to come by. Many residents opt for car-free living and hop on the streetcar or the MAX to get around town.
