The Cathedral Heights neighborhood is a dynamic area in the heart of Washington D.C. While there's a vivacious city environ with its fast-paced, politically-inspired atmosphere, the area has a laid-back feel, with parks, local businesses and golf courses.

Transit
Cathedral Heights is filled with thoroughfares that wind their way through the neighborhood. These side roads offer ideal driving and biking conditions. If you want to take the little ones out for a jaunt, you won't have to worry about their safety with ample side walk space that will accommodate you and your stroller. To get from your home to other D.C. locales, you can always hop on the Metro, which runs throughout the city and into its surrounding neighborhoods.

Outdoor Family Recreation
The Cathedral Heights Community is inundated with plenty of parks and other natural retreats where you and the family will be able to spend quality time. At Glover Archbold Park, you can take nature walks amid the tall evergreen trees. If you head south, you'll come to a clearing on the banks of the Potomac River - a crystalline waterway that leads to the Chesapeake Bay. If the little ones want to run and play, there's also the Reservoir Playground, which features a beautiful view of the Georgetown Reservoir. The playground's central location makes it a popular spot amongst D.C. parents, so you and your kids will never be lacking for company.

Athletics
For some grownup fun, you can hit the links at one of the nearby golf courses. Right across the river is the Washington Golf Course - D.C.'s premier green, which is renowned for its pristine playing conditions and close-cropped putting greens that will surely pose a challenge to players of all levels. If tennis is more your game, then you can always head to St. Albans Tennis Court on Garfield Street.

Education
Washington is noted for its exemplary public school system were your little ones will grow and learn as they make friends matriculate onto middle school and high school. If you want your kids to attend a private institution, you can enroll them in the Washington International School on Macomb Street. There, they'll gain a valuable cultural perspective as they study alongside students from all over the world.
