With high gym fees and expensive classes, at home workouts are becoming increasingly popular. Living in a small space isn't an excuse to not exercise. Your pint-sized apartment still offers you the correct accommodations to achieve an intense workout.

As long as you have access to stairs, a wall and minimum floor space, you can workout at home with no issues. Keep reading to discover the seven exercises you can complete in a small space.

1. Stair step ups

While it may be easier to skip the stairs and take the elevator during your commute to your apartment, the stairs in your complex are actually a useful equipment to tone your legs.

And it's not just for legs. It will also tone major muscle groups such as your glutes and hamstrings. If you want to advance your stair step up workout, hold dumbbells to increase the weight your body lifts during the exercise.

2. Wall squats

Despite living in a small space, you can make do with what you have. Your wall will become your best friend as you tone your body with wall squats. You'll feel the burn as you put your back against the wall and then slide down until your lined up at a 90-degree angle with your hips, knees and ankles.

Once in position, hold the pose for as long as you can and then rest before holding yourself in the form again! Wall squats are a great toning exercise to complete on a daily basis.

3. Mountain climbers

Take advantage of the small hallway space you have in your home to get some intense cardio in with mountain climbers. First get into a push-up position, then step one foot forward and repeat with the alternate foot as fast as you can for one minute.

This move will get your heart rate up without pounding the pavement! Do this exercise in combination with others.

4. Yoga

If you have enough room to place down a rug, then you have enough space to unroll a yoga mat. Believe it or not, yoga is a great calorie burner. Completing poses and moves that get your heart rate up and engage your largest muscle groups are an efficient way to burn fat. Subscription services such as Netflix and YouTube offer many online yoga workouts you can follow in the comfort of your tiny home.

Did you know that you can get your desired six-pack abs straight from your home? The abdominal crunch is a great exercise to increase your core strength using just a tiny area on your floor.

To perform the exercise, lay on the floor with your knees slightly bent and your upper back slightly off the ground. From there, using only your core, lift yourself up until your back begins to raise itself off the floor. This is a great exercise to perform while watching a movie or your favorite sporting event.

6. Wall push-ups

Another great wall exercise to get your blood pumping in a small space are wall push-ups. Begin this workout by getting into a traditional push-up position while standing against the wall.

Once parallel to the wall, rotate the back of your torso towards the wall while raising your hands into the air and hold for five seconds. This may sound simple but you'll be feeling the burn in no time.

7. YouTube workouts

But don't just stop at the provided examples. There's an array of additional exercises you can do in your tiny apartment to efficiently live a healthy lifestyle.
