Living In Milwaukee School of Engineering, WI

Students who are looking to earn a solid education in engineering and related fields may do no better than the Milwaukee School of Engineering. This college has been operating in the heart of this vibrant city since 1903, enabling nearly 2,400 students to be working toward their degree at any given time. Student living at MSOE places enrollees at the school in the middle of Milwaukee's East Town neighborhood, which is home to the corporate offices of numerous Fortune 500 businesses and other organizations. Students can expect to be challenged academically, as the school's low enrollment means small class sizes. Admission to the school is selective, and the college looks for ambitious, career-minded students.

Academics at MSOE are broken into Building and Infrastructure Engineering, Computers, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Health-Related Engineering, Business and Nursing. Individuals can choose specific concentrations within these fields. With a student to teacher ratio of 14 to 1, learners can expect to receive a good amount of personal attention from their instructors. MSOE does not use teacher's assistants to lead any classes. The average class size is just 18 students.

The campus is located in the middle of the East Town neighborhood of Milwaukee, which is one of the most vibrant and desirable parts of the city. It is right on the banks of Lake Michigan and is home to the city's theater district. Additionally, the Bradley Center, which is home to professional sports teams, Grand Avenue Mall and the city's Art Museum are all located in this neighborhood. About half the students at the school opt for university housing, but the rest decide to find student apartments through the city. Given the central location of the campus, there are many different areas that are within range.
