studio apt with dryer and washer in unit and hearing dogs for me since I am deaf adult.
The apartments are well kept, the amenities that are offered are compareable to other apartments if not better. The grounds are well maintained. I am happy to call this my home however- I do believe that it is the location where my apartment sits that I can say this. I have lived here for 3 years and I have never had an issue.
The management here often times forgets this is where people live, and they are in fact dealing with peoples livelihood.
Reading some of the reviews here were no surprise after having lived here for two years. Our original management was honest, and once Julie had come the complex had an entirely different feel.
We originally filled out paperwork with previous management for my companion animal who had been with me for 13 years and tends to my diagnosed anxiety and chronic depression. We brought a doctors note as well as filling out paperwork original staff gave us. We asked for a copy upon moving out because the new complex wanted to ensure she was previously on record as our therapy dog because theyre privately owned and do not have their own process for this. Shame on us for not originally asking for a copy because the office staff never responded to our emails practically forcing us to call and ask every other day for a month asking for this paperwork. They deflected us and told us they were waiting on corporate to get back to them. While I understand the misplacement was likely from prior management, this was handled poorly. One of the phone calls was with Olivia and she said we dont have that documentation, but you said you also have a cat? We dont have that in record either so we are going to have to look into that since you have undocumented animals in your apartment but our lease has it written we had one cat and one dog and that we paid our deposit for them. Luckily we have a copy of our lease.
Our dog damaged the carpet so we paid the $800 for replacement, however we were forced to pay this a year before we moved out without being given the opportunity to restore the apartment to original condition, and I had asked if we would get $100 back since we continued living there for another year since we were explain that the $800 was the cost of the remaining life of the carpet that we had taken away. So 8 years minus one...(read my google review)
The neighbors are noisy, the trash compactor is always full, there's always small piles of dog ---- from owners who don't know how to pick up after their small animals, the gate is always broken, it took a year and a half to get a new gate system after it kept breaking, with a 8 month period of it just permanently being left open. There ALWAYS people breaking into the mailboxes, which if you ask the office about, they blow you off and tell you it's not their problem. I haven't been able to close my mailbox in 5 months. No news on replacing it, they just don't care. Every time something seems to break in our apartment, like their ancient stove, dishwasher, washer and dryer, we get charged for them to fix it because they can't prove it wasn't like that before or after we moved in. The staff is useless most time, can barely answer basic questions without giving you the run around. I've heard from other tenants that there is some shady business going on during move out where they'll charge you wrongly for a carpet replacement because they don't do a walk through with you upon move out. I've also heard from some neighbors that when they went to resign their lease, they were forced to do a walk through and were charged for damages which is illegal because WASHINGTON STATE LAW provides tenants that ability to return the apartment to move in conditions upon move out, and they weren't moving out, they were trying to resign the lease. They were forced to pay the damages because the apartment attached it to their rent, so it was either pay or get evicted due to non payment on rent. So BEWARE. They will squeeze every penny out of you for pretty poor living conditions, and then treat you poorly.
Excellent so far...I have not physically moved in yet but the level of customer service I've experienced thus far has been excellent!
