Royal Pointe Apartments and Townhomes

Honestly, I would love to give this place five stars but I just cant do that. When I was a tenant, the place really wasnt that bad. It was clean. The people were nice, they always made sure that if there was a maintenance request put in they responded. But after being a tenant Forget it! They dont care about you at all and they will make it as hard as possible to get your security deposit back. I have been trying to get in contact with them for two weeks now, as it is well over the 45 day period for me to get my security deposit back and I havent heard anything. I went as far as to contact Pegasus, who is the new owner, and I still havent heard anything from them either. I used to really enjoy living at Royal pointe when they were owned by a different company. Now that theyre owned by this new company I dont think that its a good place to live or deal with.

I'll start by saying that the previous landlords were fantastic. That all stopped when we found out that it had been sold to the Franklin Johnston Group. After some research we found that the company was a mega-landlord of sorts, it owns 23,000 homes across 7 states. With average rent in Virginia Beach being ~1500, we can assume that the company makes ~34.5 million dollars a MONTH. The day that the new company took over, all maintenance people were fired, all front office people were fired, monthly newsletters were stopped, birthday cards stopped, maintenance in general completely stopped. They stopped having private security patrol the area at night, closed the gym (which I had to pay for), and then started sending the letters. First off, when our rent renews it will be increased by $200. A total of 1650, for a 2 bedroom 1100 sq ft townhome in a not so nice neighborhood with horrendous parking and terrible maintenance is completely insane. When a neighboring apartment complex had a building burn down, our lovely new company took it upon themselves to send out roughly a dozen threatening, or at least berating notices claiming that they would start fining people for simply owning a grill (something specifically and very clearly outlined in the lease). These notices were, unsurprisingly, filled with lies or at least incorrect information. In Virginia Beach, tenants are allowed to have grills that accept small propane canisters so long as the canisters are not stored indoors and the grills are not used on balconies or under roofs. The letters continuously stated that our leases prohibited grills, that city ordinances prohibited grills, etc. Today, I finally was able to speak with a semi-competent property management employee after she left yet another threatening notice on my door who finally admitted after arguing with me for multiple minutes that I was correct. The review is getting too long, but check other sites, I'll be leaving similar reviews!

I like this apartment community and would to rent there.

The complex is central to everything and in walking distance of multiple grocery stores, eateries and shopping experiences. The area is quiet and well kept. The staff and maintenance crew are the best!

I was very pleased with the courtesy and professionalism of the site Manager. I was not able to view the inside of the available unit, but got an idea of the layout.

Living in the same apartment almost from 4 years, I never thought of change the place just because very good neighbourhood, nice staff and walkeble distance to everything. Especially never had any bad instance from 4 yes. Thanks to great Karen to managing everything awesome . Thanks Mahadev
