I was in search of a place to call home, some where safe and clean. I was ask to check out Quarter Mill Apt.( I took that advice) and my God, my first visit was a horrible one, and my first step in the office were and was a terrible exsperience. It was the first and my last.
The walls and doors leak like crazy and you can expect in January to see electric bills of 200-300 dollars in a one bedroom apartment. The incompetency of the front office staff and the lack of contact when submitting complaints has been poor at best. The front office staff is incredibly ill equipped to handle most issues. I went the office to verify what my rent was and THEY CANNOT EVEN TELL YOU WHAT YOUR MONTHLY RENT IS. Insane. They told me over and over to just consult the paper lease. That's what I did but the writing in the lease is poor. It says the first rental payment was 733.00 and that is what I paid, however this apparently was the pro rated rent (that part conveniently left out, must be pretty profitable for them to collect late fee money that way). So they charged me a 45 dollar fee for not paying in full even though when I got the notice I went to the office to tell them that if they had just told me what it was in the first place I wouldn't have to pay this stupid arbitrary fee. The lady at the office was incredibly rude and I did not get contacted at all after that regarding this issue. Just a taste of things to come I'm sure. Please look elsewhere if you wanted to be treated with any kind of respect.
The place is nice but the management is terrible. Setting up an online account was a nightmare. Had to go through three different people when I called and the lady who "helped" me was very rude. Made my account but they don't have the cost posted. You HAVE to look at your paper lease to get the price. 2017 and we're using paper leases for monthly rent. So stupid.
I have lived here for going on 8 years. For the rarly years it was as good as any that I saw concsidering he price. But the rent has increased every year but with no xdded value. The property management used to be Resident friendly. But recently all were terminated and replaced. The current are not as concerned as the previous group. This is especially true of the maintenance. Before, it was just as good as any in the city at any price. But the current maintence staff appear to inexperienced and less concerned. But with all that said, this place is the most convenievt and is still a good value if you are knowledgeable enough to insist on what's fair. Look carefully before renting and plan on some harrassment from manaement. Also there is a certain element living here that are less than desireable. The police are here so often that they should have their own parking places. Often the smell of pot permeates the building and even the parking lot. Amenity are almost non existent with only a pool and tennis court. They charge rent but have no dog park or facility for pet walking except in the general lawn areas. The yards, however are neatly groomed and the property looks good, but the buildings are old. A plus is all apartments are sprinkled for fire protection. I live here because I caint afford any better. I am in a wheelchair, but the facility was never built with that in mind. So check carefully if you are disabled. I once worked in compliance auditing of such property and this one is about average or perhaps a bit below average. But the locaion is good. It is close to everything in Richmond's west end..
I liked what i saw when I visited this place. However it did seem a little small for the price.
I love living at Quarter Mill. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. I like how my child has made friends within the community.
