We moved in yesterday and I am beyond underwhelmed. Our original move in date was 11/23/2018 but we were pushed back a week because the apartment wasnt ready, aside from it being an inconvenience time wise (my fiancs due date was on the 30th) I really didnt mind the wait. But when she went to pick the key up on the morning of the 30th our rent had climbed from $956 to $991 due to a $35 utility fee we were informed of. This was the second increase since the original welcome letter had us at $940. Since the normal leasing office staff were not present my fianc was told to come back in Monday to talk with them about the actual cost. Then, upon coming into the apartment my fianc found it full of cockroaches. Her and my mother sprayed in the apartment and then left to get more raid. By the time I got off of work I found even more roaches. This made me inspect the apartment in more detail. I found that the kitchen window was cracked and had no latch, there was a hole by the front door, the steps to get in had a three inch gap in-between them, and one of the bedroom doors did not shut properly. I reached out to the after hours hotline and the operator reached out to emergency maintenance, who told him they dont handle those issues. Attached are picture of the building issues and SOME of the roaches. I discourage anyone from applying here unless you enjoy the smell of raid and the constant feeling that something is crawling on you.
