I cannot say enough good things about my initial experience. First of all Commonwealth at York is tucked away in a nice and very peaceful centrally located area. I just moved in a month ago. Becky who is the property Manager and all of the ladies in the office are friendly and quick to respond. The maintenance guys did a tv and curtain mount and were nice and professional. This is one luxury apartment living I would highly recommend! ~L. Neal~
The management staff in particular is one of the reasons we decided to move. One of the managers have no people skills and is a rude individual on multiple occasions. We took great care of the apartment since it was new when we moved in. The grounds smells like straight up animal urine when walking around. They now have a company that they forced us to pay into which on many occasions, they dont even pick up your trash that's left in fort of tenants doors for days. People dont even put them in the tiny trash cans they tell you to put them in. The company that picks up the trash is reckless, speeding up and down the street in pickup trucks. Place is starting to look like the project's now and wayyy overpriced. Maintenance crew was about the nicest people we engaged with and was a pleasure. Just like someone else stated, they will attempt to RIP you off after they tell you to "let us clean the carpets", but then tell you it has to be replaced. What I mean by that is your furniture indents in the carpets. No stains or rips in the carpet though! Did a walk through and they said everything was fine later to receive a $400+ bill. They even lied on the paperwork as to why we moved out. They stated it was because we bought a new home when we really moved, as we told them before, due to overpricing and crappy management. Be cautious when looking at the Commonwealth at York. Stay somewhere else.
Very nice apartments with good looking updates! The area is nice. There is a really nice pool area and a great gym! The club house is nice as well. They even have a car care area which is a great added bonus!
However, If you have children this is not ideal family living. There is a dog park but no park for kids. The entire property has streets running through it so there is really no place at all for them to play. Also, the dog people seem to feel pretty entitled here. They don't all pick up after their pets and we had an upstairs neighbor above us who let his dog relieve itself on the patio which ruined the one area that our kid had to safely sit outside and play.
Also be aware that most properties in this area are looking to cash in when you move out and they are no different. They are going to charge you for everything and then some when you leave. They don't want you to clean the carpets so they can state that they "couldn't be cleaned" and they can charge you for replacement and have the ability to offer new carpet to ever new tenant.
Single, kid free, dog people, welcome home! Everyone else, could work but you may want to keep looking.
Have a family member who lives in #1 she loves it there
I live here. There are no elevators. Washer and dryer hookups, you either have your own or rent from them. Controlled access to th fitness room. Furnished apartments may have W/D. Some smoke-free buildings.
