We were so excited to move here initially because it is a new build and we got a great deal on rent. We moved in at the end of April and overall the unit itself is very nice. My frustration and the reason for my 2 stars is with management. Prior to moving in, we were told amenities would be ready by the end of August. It is now almost the end of October. We spoke with our neighbors and they had been told they would be finished by the end of July. The management team here does not seem to know what they are doing when it comes to running an apartment complex. While we are thankful that they have provided a YMCA membership until the gym and pool open, we were most looking forward to the dog park and dog spa which are still under construction and do not look like they will be finished anytime soon. I understand delays happen, I just wish they had been more transparent about the actual timeline of construction. We have a large dog that we thought would have an enclosed place to run around within walking distance and are very disappointed that it is not ready yet. Another frustration with management has been with the implementation of a program called Poo Prints. Had we known, prior to signing our lease, that we would have to do this program we would have found a different place to live. We always pick up after our dog and our lease did not say anything about this program, only that you could be fined $250 for not picking up after your pet. All residents with dogs were required to bring our dogs into the office to get a DNA swab done so that if any poop is not picked up around the complex it could be matched to a dog and we could be fined $250. I do not agree with this program and I did not want to put my dog's DNA into a worldwide database, but I felt I had no other choice from management, even though it was not in my lease.

The management of Abberly CenterPointe sincerely apologizes for the construction delays which have affected the opening of the amenities. As we receive construction updates from the construction team, we have always communicated that information to our Residents in a timely manner. Management has been very transparent with regard to communicating information that has been delivered to us from the construction team. Unexpected construction delays are out of our control; however, we do our best to communicate the delays/updates to our Residents. We're sorry that you're not pleased with the implementation of PooPrints (wwwPooPrints.com). To help protect our brand-new community and maintain cleanliness, management choose to incorporate a program designed to promote cleaner communities by keeping the grounds clean & sanitary for our Residents. We have received favorable feedback from both Residents with & without dogs as well as from prospective Residents. The lease agreement does allow management to implement reasonable changes with a lease addendum. So far we have had a great experience. We moved in late April and have enjoyed the apartment and community thus far. Many people have complained about no amenities being available, however this was communicated to us in advance and though I'm not positive, I'm sure our rent is somewhat discounted given this. Compared to the prices at comparable apartment complexes, I think we are getting a good deal, even without any amenities. The valet trash service is available and has been from the beginning so there is something. Because there was no gym and no pool and construction kept getting push back (as it does with any construction), the apartment complex was nice enough to offer alternatives to residents at no charge (something they did not have to do). In my opinion, they went above and beyond which shows a great level of customer service and a willingness to listen to their residents. Additionally, they have scheduled two different social events for residents with food and drinks. We have had a few maintenance issues to be addressed and they are always addressed in a timely manner and all the staff from maintenance to office are very friendly and willing to help. We moved from a house but had previously lived in another "luxury" apartment complex in Chesterfield and it didn't compare. I would have given up the amenities there to have what we currently have now.

Abberly at Centerpointe claims to be a Pet Friendly property, but unfortunately they do not allow any dogs to visit my dog or my apartment, not even for the day. Deposits are made for reasons. So Im glad I signed a short lease. My friends have dogs and my parents have a dog and when anyone visits me, none of them can bring their dog to see me or my dog. I have never rented from any property, especially a higher end one that didnt allow pets to visit. Construction has been delayed on the main building so there are absolutely no amenities and no dog park that Im paying for right now and there wont be until a few months before my lease ends, which I was just informed of AFTER signing the lease. Theres no call box or any way to let your guests in without having to go down and let them in. Again, havent had that issue anywhere else, especially in nicer places. Obviously not so high end, which means its definitely not worth the price Im paying for all these things that are available elsewhere, Especially the lack of amenities now for a longer period and Not being pet friendly. So search elsewhere if you want a better or more fun place for your dog and any type of amenities before your lease ends.

We are sorry that you're not pleased with our animal policy. Our community is very animal friendly as we welcome our residents' animals without any breed or weight restrictions. Our policies regarding visiting animals are to protect both our residents and our community. While there have been construction delays due to unforeseen inclement weather, management has provided our current residents with an exceptional alternative to enjoy both an outdoor & indoor pool, state of the art fitness equipment, exercise classes & more at a nearby facility at our expense. Please contact our office at 804-562-4370 for more details. All of our buildings will have call boxes. The call box for our first and only completed building at this time is scheduled to be installed by the end of June.
