Dolley Madison Apartments at Tysons

I've been here at Dolly Madison for over 10 years and I couldn't be happier It is very safe , I work late hours and I never worry, plus there is plenty of parking I also love the fact that there is a convenient store on site. Everybody in the office is very friendly and helpful. They have a great maintenance team that handles requests the same day. I don't see myself leaving unless I purchase a home.

TOP QUALITY SUPPORT AFTER YOU RENT: We all know that the folks in rental offices are nice. The real test is how they treat their tenants after they rent. The team at Dolley Madison is terrific. Never had a maintenance request stay "open" for more than one day! Not only is the maintenance team fast, but very very good. They don't do "band aids," they really do "repairs." Admittedly, the property is older, and you should "buy" what works for you. I have a friend two miles away who also rents a one-bedroom. Hers costs $50,000. more per year than my one bedroom at Dolley Madison. Yes, she has higher ceilings. And she does have wood floors instead of (clean beige) carpeting. I'd rather keep the $100,000. (over two years) in my bank account. ;-) ;-) I suspect that Dolley Madison is one of the lowest priced communities in which to rent in McLean. Not the newest. Not the fanciest. But with a team that cares about the tenants and takes care of the property. Make your own decision!!!

They don't keep up with normal maintenance that I recently fell and need medical attention. So far they don't want to pay my medical expenses. Maintenance such as keeping side walks from caving in, proper drainage, broken excercise machines, snow removal, changing light bulbs, landscaping. Building are old that the plumbing is loud, floors creek, they have a Squirrel problem and parking is bad. They have a Squirrel problem. They damage your patio furniture, furniture coverings, and plants. They fight in your balcony and beg for food. I have had up to 5 gather in my balcony at one time. There not scared of people. The buildings are so old that the floors creek so loud. I wake up at night whenever the people above me go to the restroom. Plumbing is so loud, everytime someone takes a shower upstairs it's so loud i can't hear myself talk. Something is weird about the water because it kills all my plants. I have to give them bottled water as well. Parking is I recently fell after it snowed because they had not cleared the sidewalks of any snow. Managment, told me they would pay for my medical expenses and as soon as I sent it to them, they changed their minds and refused to pay for it. Now they have told me, they made a claim with the insurance but don't want to give me the information to call them. They keep telling me the insurance will call me next week. Excercise machines have been broken for over 3 months even after I reported them. Landscape in front of my place has not been replaced in years. I have also complained about this. I was here for a year after they replaced the light bulbs in the front of the building after I complained. Not enough visitor parking.

I recommend Dolley Madison. I have been living at Dolley Madison for the past 13 years and this place gets better every year! The convenience store is one of my favorite amenities here!

I decided to put a deposit on an apt 5/15. I paid a $500 deposit and $50 non refundable app fee. 9 days later, 33 days before lease starts, I have bought a house and have decided to not move there. They kept all of my $550 even though they said the app was $50 and the $500 was a deposit. Our lease starts 6/25. It is May 23rd. Be very careful here. Only put in an app if you want to live here. 9 days hold, I did not even view apt because tenants there until June. Out $550 dollars and they are laughing at me. They told me I would have a chance to view and make decisions. They told me all I lost was the $50 app fee. It is just not right.

18 year resident. Staff, management, all top notch. Location is outrageously good and even better with addition of Metro.
