Lack of parking, rents are higher than other communities, guest parking and overnight visitors are hard to accommodate, windows poorly made and sound is an issue.
For the amount of rent I pay, it is disgusting that if I come to the parking lot later than everyone else, I have to park all the way at the top of the parking garage. Even on busy days at the Villages at Leesburg, there are 2 covered levels without any cars. So to make us park not only outside but also at the very top level just because you didn't reserve enough spaces for tenants in the bottom level is disgusting. I feel I should get a discount on my rent for that. I am a physician so I have later hours and get to the parking garage later than most people, and so frequently have to park up top.
The drain in the bathroom sink has an odor. I wish this could be replaced.
There has been far too much construction and noise since I moved in last November. Also, the pop up fountains need to be shut down by 9 pm. It is far too loud too late.
I have not felt very welcomed or very well taken care of by the staff at the Metropolitan. The hours of the office are limited, and if I am not available on the weekends, I will not be home at any time the office is open. For the amount of money I pay to live here, longer hours or even 24 hr concierge service would be more appropriate. I also think that considering how sheltered parking is already limited, it is ridiculous that even more reserved spots are being added. When I started living here 6 months ago, there were only around 6 or 7 reserved parking spots at the far ends of the parking lot. Now 5-8 more reserved parking spots have been added, making it even more difficult to find unreserved parking. This wouldn't be such a problem if residents were allowed to park on other covered floors of the parking garages, not just the very top.
