Living in Institute for the Psychological Sciences, VA
The Institute for the Psychological Sciences is a graduate school in Arlington, Virginia, that applies the teachings of Catholicism with the goal of reaching a greater understanding of the theories of psychology. Affiliated with the Legion of Christ, the institution was founded in 1997, bring an unique brand of student living to the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Student housing can be found near the school’s ideal location, near Ronald Regan Washington National Airport, the Crystal City Shops, the banks of the Potomac River, and a convenient Metro station that links Arlington to the attractions and culture of the nation’s capital. Enrollment at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences has leveled off at about 30 students, all of them earning graduate degrees. Off campus housing is a popular option among these students, who gain access to the expansive set of shops, entertainment venues and restaurants that comprise Crystal City and Pentagon Row.
Students at IPS may work toward a Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology or General Psychology, or a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. According to the school’s mission statement “The Institute is dedicated to the renewal of the Catholic Christian intellectual tradition and the integration of the theoretical and empirical bases of psychology and a Catholic view of the human person.” The school was founded by Gladys Sweeney, who believed that student living should reflect a greater understanding of the relationship between psychology and religion. Courses focus both on Catholic perspectives and on developing the clinical skills necessary in the field of psychology. Topics include the history of psychology, system of psychological thought, personality theories, statistics, psychopathology, human development, learning, cognition, biology and social learning.

i like that there are a lot of people my age so i fit into the area well. there are a lot of restaurants, both fast food and nicer, which is nice because i love food .
I seldom accompany my family when I go to work. I usually go to Starbucks nearby with my family on Saturdays and Sundays. I feel that Starbucks is quiet and I can talk with my family members about their innermost feelings
I love the diversity and being able to walk to restaurants. I like being close to metro. My favorite restaurant is Chloe.

The Institute for the Psychological Sciences is a graduate school in Arlington, Virginia, that applies the teachings of Catholicism with the goal of reaching a greater understanding of the theories of psychology. Affiliated with the Legion of Christ, the institution was founded in 1997, bring an unique brand of student living to the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Student housing can be found near the school’s ideal location, near Ronald Regan Washington National Airport, the Crystal City Shops, the banks of the Potomac River, and a convenient Metro station that links Arlington to the attractions and culture of the nation’s capital. Enrollment at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences has leveled off at about 30 students, all of them earning graduate degrees. Off campus housing is a popular option among these students, who gain access to the expansive set of shops, entertainment venues and restaurants that comprise Crystal City and Pentagon Row.
Students at IPS may work toward a Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology or General Psychology, or a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. According to the school’s mission statement “The Institute is dedicated to the renewal of the Catholic Christian intellectual tradition and the integration of the theoretical and empirical bases of psychology and a Catholic view of the human person.” The school was founded by Gladys Sweeney, who believed that student living should reflect a greater understanding of the relationship between psychology and religion. Courses focus both on Catholic perspectives and on developing the clinical skills necessary in the field of psychology. Topics include the history of psychology, system of psychological thought, personality theories, statistics, psychopathology, human development, learning, cognition, biology and social learning.
