Acclaim at Carriage Hill

There are many good things I like about this place and so many things I don't like about this place. Lets start with the good. #1 Like the location #2 Rooms are a nice size except for the kitchen (more on that later) #3 Tenants are extra special, like them very much in my area. #4 Have access to nice area for flower garden, just haven't been able to do as much this year. OK, now for the bad. We live on Beaver Lane, that is stuck back in the corner and therefore new tenants or prospects don't see our area if at all. This area is not so important so they don't think the exterior upkeep as far as exterior paint is important. Caulking is so old and dry it has shrunk from from the surfaces it is supposed to adhere to. Last time they touched the paint it was a different color and they only slopped the paint around the edges.I showed this to head of maintenance and he agreed with me and said he would have them start on it next week. Surprise, surprise! Next week has never gotten here and that was two years ago. They will lie to just to shut you up. The carpet is so cheap the pile is only 1/4" inch long. The tacks that were used around the edges are sticking straight up and if you don't watch your every step you might step on one, and it hurts!.The kitchen is atrocious. The dishwasher is at least 30 years old. You have to wash the dishes. It doesn't dry the dishes and everything is dishwasher safe, no plastic could possibly melt in it. The fridge is so small I have to get on my hands and knees to get any thing out..The storage space is so lacking as well as the work area is so small I have had to spend so much money buying extra furniture items to increase storage . The bathroom has a micro vanity smell that will not go away no matter what I use to get rid of it. I am pretty sure they use white wash to paint the walls Any scuff mark is almost impossible to remove, especially after maintenance has been here. (Other than Mrs Lincoln How was the play?

I love the floor plans. My only complaint is that I cannot get there immediately, and though I have emailed, explaining my circumstances and plans, no one gets in touch with me. I keep getting computerized emails that don't pertain to my situation as I explain it, at all. If names are attached to the emails they send, why can't a real person answer my responses? The emails invite me to call, but I'm working fifteen hours a day, six days a week, running a summer motel, right now, and chances to call without interruption are minimal.

I am presently looking to downsize. Have been here since 2010. My only wish is that they would enforce the tenants that live above you to put carpets on the floor. The ones above me go on almost 24/7 with the heavy walking on the floor (i.e. parkay floors are awful) and sometimes like the ceiling is coming down and can you imagine this at 3-4 am at night. Also, the bathroom ceiling still leaks (going on for a few years and still has not been fix properly, one of the reasons I'm moving from this apartment).

it can be so difficult for older people to feel comfortable in a new space, and even more difficult as a grandchild to see a grandparent adapt in a new home. Acclaim at Carriage Hill put me at ease when helping my grandfather settle in to his new apartment.
