We immediately had issues (almost 10 maintenance calls in a little over 2 months) with pipes and a backed up/flooding sink. Eventually management called a plumber who said the pipes needed repairing. On December 16, 2017, we were contacted and told that someone would be entering our apartment only to disconnect the kitchen appliances so that work could be done on the pipes outside of our apartment. No further communication was made. We arrived back at the apartment around 8:00pm to find a trench dug through our floor, our belongings moved into a pile in the middle of the living room, and our kitchen ripped out. The work was conducted without our permission, without us being made aware, and with our dog present in the same room, resulting in a traumatic situation for our dog. Throughout the entirety of the repair process, we were given misleading or false information numerous times and multiple promises of proper reimbursement plus adequate compensation. When contacted, Van Metre headquarters were unresponsive and unhelpful throughout the whole process. The property manager and several leasing agents were unhelpful and downright rude in certain instances (one woman laughed at me on the phone and hung up when I called to make a request about the repair process). The process from December 16 to getting a reimbursement check took over 2 months. When we officially moved out of the complex in April 2019, there was still unfinished work in the apartment, a cleaning crew had never been sent (still cement splatters on the wall and objects left under the carpet), and we never received further compensation for the disaster or received a rent refund for the period of time in which our apartment was unlivable or under repair.

Very clean property, leasing office is professional and always responsive to any of my needs I had when I lived there. They always made me feel like home. Would recommend to friends/family.

My boyfriend and I have been living here for almost a year and can't wait to move out. When we moved in we were told that our building was smoke-free, yet since all of the vents are connected our entire apartment smells like smoke (cigarette sometimes, but marijuana most of the time). We have contacted management about this on several occasions, but have been told that there is nothing they can do about it. It is especially a problem since I have asthma, and extremely annoying that our clothes/belongings constantly smell like smoke. There is also an issue with people not cleaning up after their dogs. There are piles of poop EVERYWHERE, and you can't walk through any of the grass without stepping in it. Extremely disgusting place to live.
