Great place to live / great location / fun activities/ family oriented/ only place that has all the amenities and also allows large breed dogs. Management is on top of it. Always helpful and available. Price is great for all the utilities that are included and also the use of gym and pool. Urban living in the mountains. Great neighbors/safe/right next to the Appalachian trailhead/concerts/healthcare across the street/Great grocery store across the street/ too many positives to list.
Friendly office staff, prompt responses for service requests.
Staff was not as helpful as other complexes we've visited. Unimpressed with the tiny stackable washer/dryer combo, seemed cheap in comparison with the rest of apartment. Kitchen was hands down the nicest I've ever seen. Although a nice overall apartment, the town center community is not suited for us.
I have lived here for several years now. The best part about living @ the DTC is the location. Close to Roanoke and the convenience to walking to restaurants is a nice benefit. Eventually the YMCA will be here as well as a large playground. Im not sure having this right on the adjoining property will necessarily be a good thing with increased traffic and noise but Ill have to wait and see. Currently, there is a lot of construction going on so there is constant noise and constant dirt, dust, and mud everywhere and it starts early in the morning and goes in all day long.
As far as fees Rent has gone up 10% every year- Additionally, this year garage space went up $20 a month to $120 and cable/TV went up 50% and so did Internet. There are other fees that are not optional like trash pickup (there are dumpsters that are convenient for taking out your own trash).
Lastly, great to have a dog here but short term renters often dont pickup after there dogs and that has been a huge problem off and on over the years.
Lastly, the pool house was abused so it is now cost prohibitive to use.
Overall its ok but there is room for improvement.
The location is wonderful which has kept me around but the management is awful. I have lived in several apartment communities and this management team is by far the worst I have encountered. I would also have to agree with the comments below -- the craftsmanship is low quality and the water is terrible. I had so many problems upon moving in. The pricing is far too high for all the problems they have.
