So heres the thing. The 500 dollar pet fee is ridiculous. The apartments are in poor condition on the inside, with chips and stains all over. But most importantly their customer service is absolutely terrible.
I come from Texas and there they have a law that military families just have to provide 30 days notice to break a lease when they get orders. In Virginia its different. They just follow federal law so its not 30 days but 30 days plus all the way to the end of the next month you owe all your rent.
I didnt know this. And I was waiting on my orders for longer than i expected. I turned it on the 7th of July as soon as I got it. And I told them Id vacate on the 3rd or August but I understood if they charged me up to the 7 because of the 30 day rule. No dice! They dont have a nice state law like Texas so they told me I owed all of Augusts rent! All I asked was a little understanding. I mean common, youre gonna charge me rent while Im in Korea?!
No budge, so I went to the corporate office. I said that treating service members like this gets companies blacklisted. The nice lady there said, something along the lines of, Ive heard that many times before, and it never happens. One can assume that many Soldiers had other complaints and they just don't care.
Anyways the nice lady at the corporate office told me she wouldnt pro-rate my rent either to the 7th of August. Fine, I then asked to speak to the owner. She told me no! That the owner is too busy to speak with me. EVER. As in I could never speak to my official landlord. But guess what, I left a bad review on Google and he commented! Saying Im a jerk to ask for a favor and then for being upset if I left a bad review!
Like I said on the other review, if you are military, stay away. They do not respect the Armed Services and only want to nickel and dime you.
The gentle man in the office staff made me wait for 34mins and never greeted me. I had to walk out without seeing the model and touring the property...smh! I heard complaints about the really slow internet service, and difficulty with streaming
I love living here. Office staff, Amanda and Ryan, are both very nice and very helpful. The maintenance staff, Brian and Greg, are friendly and do a great job. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and we'll maintained, by a friendly lawn maintenance company. Most all of the other residents are friendly and say hello when they see you. The apartment is very pretty and spacious. Top of the line appliances, and washer and dryer. Large tub/shower. Pet friendly and plenty of parking spaces. I could not be more pleased with River's Bend Apartments.
Was a community member for nearly a year. When it came time to leave it was such a hassle. Paperwork every month. Over $10,000 to break a lease. Then no one showed for the final appointment where I was charged even more for damages i.e. normal wear and tear after nearly a decade. Will never recommend or go back!
Everything about the experience is wrong. They are money hungry.
