Location is fantastic, cant beat it. Apartments are apartments, nothing special, but what you pay for. Amenities are decent. The reason for the poor review is the customer service and the management of MAA.

When we originally moved into our unit that we signed for, the unit above flooded. Our ceiling completely caved in and water was everywhere. The leasing office essentially told us that it was liveable conditions until we started to fight them on it. We were then vacated out of this apartment during repairs. They did not offer hotel accomidations until after we asked for them, the only thing they offered was a different more expensive floor plan that we could move into for more cost to us. 2 weeks into repairs the apartment flooded again, because the contractors burst a pipe, with our belongings in it. The staff then gave us a upgraded unit for the same cost and told us we would be in charge of moving our furniture to the OTHER BUILDING. They then paid for our movers who they hired morning of and showed up without a truck

During this time they had us sign a new lease for the Unit. The Unit lease move out day shifted our original lease date by 15 days from August 31st to September 15th. I then spoke to the leasing manager face to face to have this changed and she said it will be taken care of to revert the date back to the original date (September 15th happens to be our wedding date, so you may see the issue on why that wouldnt work.).

Fast forward to this past Wednesday, 10 months later, we come home to a notice on our door stating our move out date is September 15th. We immediately notified the leasing office that this was incorrect. When the new leasing manger heard this he said he would need documentation on why this was an issue and what the original date was. When I told him we spoke with the previous leasing manager (Who I was notified that was fired because of follow up issues and similar instances) face to face and she assured us the date would be chan

The management staff has terrible attitudes, poor communication, and awful customer service, except for Kevin he is attentive, nice and always going above and beyond to help. Do not count on the Regional manager to be helpful with any issues, he is rude and he likes to argue and debate with your concerns which is very very unprofessional. I am highly disappointed because I really did love the apartments because the previous manager was so nice and understanding regardless of the situation she never had a bad attitude, nor would she argue with the residents. The walls are thin and you can hear stomping on top of your head, the patios are super close where if someone smokes you can smell the smoke and it gets inside your home. The outlets have shortages and they will not fix that issue. They do not call you when you receive packages. Charge you the luxury price but do not offer luxury service. Great location but I would rather move into the surrounding apartments when my lease is up versus this apartments due to the recent change in management, the unprofessional-ism from the property manager and the regional manager , and the lack of care for the residents is what made me change my mind on renewing here.

For the price you pay to live here, you wouldn't expect that the walls and floors would be so thin that you could hear everything your neighbors do. Worse yet, several months of documented complaints later, its same old, same old. I wouldn't recommend living here if you want peace and quiet.

Certified Resident

Excellent location - close to everything (bars, restaurants, shops, metro, highway, great indoor parking garage, great running route).. Unit can be upgraded.. The longer you are as a resident - the rental fee is getting more and more expensive. But with all the convenience you're getting, you feel safe in your community, 24-hour access to grocery stores - you can't go wrong. I will totally recommend Post Pentagon Row to everyone who's looking for quality living in Arlington, VA.

It's hard to say that paying well over $2,000 for a one bedroom with den apartment is a good value, because it's an exorbitant amount to spend on rent, but unfortunately it's the nature of living in this area. All in all, comparatively speaking, Post Pentagon Row is a better value in the area.
