    The location is wonderful. The maintenance team that fixes stuff in your apartment is awesome. We lived there 3 years and had huge noise problems. It affects all the units, because the building is old and not well insulated. Noise from people above you. Noise from people around you. Nothing they can do about it either. Each unit has HVAC that also is very loud and nothing to do about it. The management and service fought us on everything and even our security deposit is not being returned. They stall and stonewall us and we are hiring a lawyer to sue them to get it back. We had scaffolding in our unit for months, and ruined the entire summer and they paid us $250 for that. We had constant problems with packages and they never resolved it, cutting back on the 24 hour concierge to pretty much no concierge and everything self service. Do yourself a favor and dont rent here. You are likely to be very sorry if you do.

    The place is going downhill fast since Avalon took over from Bozzuto. The property could be nice but I think the staff just does not care to be blunt. At quick glance it seems great but once you are actually living there you will find they cut corners with apartment renovations, very cheap materials are used like the carpet, tile, appliances etc. When an item is broken or in need of repair the fix is subpar at best, a ten-year child could do a better job. The response from the staff with issues is nonexistent as well. dirty carpets in the hallwaysitems outside of peoples doors like grocery shopping carts, baby strollersthe list goes on and the staff will do nothing about it. After living there for a year, we moved to a bigger apartment and it was a nightmare. The new apartment was utterly disgusting. Grease caked on the stove, kitchen floor, cabinets, and tile grout. Smelly refrigerator. Completely shoddy paint job, dog hair from previous owner everywhere including stuck in the paint on the baseboards, on the window screens and cracks in the floor. The washing machine was caked with dog hair inside the washing drum and around the lip at the top. Previous owners dog chewed up a door frame and instead of it being replaced they painted over the claw/chew marks and all! I asked for a repair and you cant even imagine what it looks like now, it literally might look worse than it did with claw marks. I could go on and on and on. the staff acted like they cared on move in day but pretty much did nothing to fix any of this except a few things and it looked worse after they fixed things. We had to clean everything ourselves and have received zero compensation for it. They have had 4 months to make it right but we have not heard one word from the Avalon Clarendon. Dont make the same mistake! There are so many other places to live in Arlington and no reason to choose the Avalon Clarendon. The only positive is the evening concierges are fantastic, wonderful people.
