For the only reasons: Dirty, poor structure, very unreliable elevator and Unprofessional lease office.
Plus No lobby where you could meet a friend for few minutes. No GYM (exept the mock one, where they turned a ONE-BR apt into a GYP and put 4 treadmills with 1 Broken), insufficient parking space, too much of roaches and mice and extremely bad smell ....
a 'friend' may refer you for the sake of $500 referral credit, please have a visit of both buildings ...
You will miss Green and cleanliness ....
This is the worse building anyone can live in. They take your rent, they change you for everything but they will not fix what's broken. For the past 3 months there has been No lights in the parking, and they have not fix it or care to apology for the residents. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
It's reasonably priced, provided you don't want that many amenities. The staff is marginally competent with consistent follow up on your part, especially when something breaks which is a virtual certainty because no real preventative measures are ever taken . Good for a bit. Not too long though.
The best advice I can give someone looking to move here is to run the other way. The maintenance on the building at the strand is terrible. Also, building A has roaches. Building B has no parking or lights in the lot. The building key fob security is non existent most days. The elevators break constantly and the amount of pot smoking is enough to make anyone not pass a drug test. The first floor is thick with pot smoke in the evenings and weekends. Debbie is one of the office staff. Never speak to her. She is rude and does not know anything about how to do her job. She yelled at me on multiple occasions and I just walked away and told her I didn't know why I was wasting my time talking to her. Besides the poor quality of the building, amenities, and staff, if I would have resigned the lease for another year the rent would have increased $300 a month. Usually it increased $50 a year but this time they wanted a lot more money. I moved to another complex close by and have never been happier. Residents should not have to feel bullied and helpless. Don't rent from The Strand or any other MileStone company.
So far, I am dissatisfied with the apartment unit and the management. I have been here since November 2016. There have been a number of issues.
One of the main issue is with the elevator which is usually broken so I had to wait more than 5 mins, occasionally take the stairs to 12th floor. Even with several report, the management doesn't look concerned or attempt to resolve the issue.
The management lacks being prompt, responsive, and friendly. After signing the lease I had to go back to the lease office several times to get other services such as garage parking permits. I had leave early from work more than 5 to 6 times to get it done. Every time I went to the office, I was getting the same answer like the manager wasn't there comeback tomorrow or next Monday.... . The whole process took more than a month. I just wish more of the BASICS had been taken care of by the management quickly.... wish they were more responsive for questions and other issues.
In general, the maintenance issues except the elevators seem to be resolved quickly within two to three days, but some maintenances marked completed without getting the issue resolved at all. I called the office with maintenance request at the end of March 2017, but there was no response or follow-up from their maintenance team. So I re-entered the request online in May 2017. But still the issue hadn't been resolved. In June 2017, I went online to see the status, the work order was marked completed and closed. It was very disappointing to see a simple maintenance issue dragging more than 3 months without getting resolved.
