Beckie was excellent! I moved across the country and she made my process seamless. Even though she was not working the Saturday I moved in she left everything for me with the weekend staff! Later the following week I contacted her for a tour and to address a few other concerns and questions and she was right there and had no issue walking nearly the entire property with me! Im less than a month in and Im happy! I moved in off a semi referral from a friend who lived there in the past whom I visited. So far so good!
This apartment is the worst apartment cheater
Caveat emptor. Don't do it. First things first: get everything in writing. Get clarification for your fees, what you're responsible for when you move out, etc. We just moved out after 15 months in a 2BR/2BA. I will say that everyone is pretty friendly (staff/maintenance-wise), so that's nice. But, they will CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING. Parking spot, facilities use, sketchy unexplained water/sewer charges? Yep! Other residents will smoke (including a lot of weed) in the stairwells so everything smells. The parking deck is "secure," but recently cars had their windows smashed and all four tires removed. The list of stuff they will charge you for when you move out is huge, and they preface all this by saying, "We will clean for $150-250!" You must get everything essentially professionally cleaned or they will charge you. I've never had to clean my apartment before moving out...never. We painted three walls in the apartment, with the understanding that we'd have to paint them back to their original color when we left. Got the right paint colors from maintenance, painted the walls, and get a final move-out bill for $350 for the walls, saying that we smoked in the apartment. We don't smoke, and there are no photos for evidence that show there is smoke damage to the walls. When we painted, we also went around to all other walls and painted over any scuffs, etc. They also charged us $125 for four damaged mini-blinds. Again, no photos of any damage. I know for certain we damaged one blind, but not four. We were sent photos of the half down blinds (damage is at the very bottom of one set - so no way of telling damage). We have to call corporate to address this issue, and they got the smoke wall charges removed, but that's only because nothing was written down. They stayed firm on the $125 for the blinds, saying that because we ruined a part of one, they have to buy an entire set of them, so they match. The nice stuff: pool is nice, and maintenance was fine.
This is the worst apartment. Live here at your own risk. If you are attracted by Sullivan Place's amenities and look and feel, be careful. Use the equipment and see that they won't work or you won't be able to use them because they going to be occupied.
Sullivan Place is a decent place to live. It's right off the beltway and offers free shuttle service to/from the metro. The community manager, maintenance team, and some of the front office staff are friendly and professional, but the concierge is not so don't expect much in terms of helpful service. The amenities are nice, but you will have to pay extra fees to use some of them. The rental rates are very high, but considering the convenient location and amenities, it may be worth it if you can afford it.
