Foxchase is a nice place to live - it is an older building community full of people of all ages. The staff are very nice and responsive to any inquiries or problems that occur. It's also within walking distance of the bus, grocery, banks, etc. It's a perfect area for someone that wants to live close to DC, but preferc more of a suburbs feel - the garden style apartments and lots of trees lends itself to make you feel like you aren't as close to everything as you actually are.
I've been at Foxchase for four years. The location is perfect - close to the metro with a free shuttle, quiet grounds away from heavy highway traffic, with a 24/7 Harris Teeter, restaurants and other services within a short walk. Beautiful walking trails are just minutes from the property and with multiple pools, tennis court and fitness centers onsite, one has everything they need here! Be sure to take advantage of the discount movie tickets as well!!
I feel that they need to do better job to take care of these apartments and for the apartments with the residents in them need to learn how to use their security key before they break the entrance Door
I recently moved out of a one-bedroom renovated unit after living there for 18 months.
Foxchase is quite cheap
The green spaces are nice, though there aren't really any seating areas/amenities set up outdoors.
The renovations are very surface-level -- insulation and sound-proofing are very poor (we moved in in early January to find the heat was not functioning...they fixed it the next day but it was a very cold first night) and the buildings are poorly sealed so pests (mice, cockroaches, bugs with a millions legs I don't know the name of) are a big problem...
...even though twice a year you have to take literally everything out of your kitchen, bathroom, and closets so they can come in and spray really noxious pesticides. We got a hotel for the night both times to try and avoid breathing in the fumes.
It can be really hard to get to management through their endless phone tree.
They added a lot of unexpected charges when we moved out, as well, which was non-negotiable.
Don't rent here!
