RIP OFF ALERT! I submitted an application for residence at Solara apartments on 02/25/2019, which included a non-refundable $40 application fee and a "refundable" $250 administration fee. I called the next day to check on the status of my application, to which I was told that it would probably be approved or denied by the end of the day. I heard nothing back so I called again on 02/27, at which time I was told that my background check was still pending. On 03/01/2019, I went to their office to cancel my application and request the $250 administration fee be refunded, but I was told that they couldn't find my application and to call back on Monday (03/04/19), but I should still be able to be refunded since I hadn't signed a lease. I called them today and I was told that my application had been approved on 02/26, and thus could not be refunded. So they failed to notify me that my application was approved until after the time frame had passed in which I could have had the administration fee refunded, with absolutely no explanation given.

My boyfriend lived there so I frequented on a regular basis, there were cockroaches, bed bugs in a brand new mattress and box spring I bought him before he moved in that had to be thrown out, when he moved in, the furnace didn't work, it took them about 9 months to fix it and when they finally did it was the middle of winter, so he was having to use space heaters. There was pee in the community dryer twice! There is people that don't even live there that use the washer and dryers and come in on Sundays and hog the laundry room up. The outside dumpsters are so full there is garbage spilling into the road and all over the community. Even with the new key card, there was people sitting in the halls and on the stairs. The fire alarm kept going off during showers due to the steam from the shower because of placement of the fire alarm. The bugs got worse while they were redoing the outside of the building. There was no fire alarm on the outside of my boyfriends building but one of the other buildings had a fire alarm that kept going off.. The police seemed to always be there arresting people.. It's disgusting and I would not recommend this place at all.. This was all during "new management" so ya it has not gotten better.

When my wife and I moved in the carpets smelled so strongly of cigarettes that my wife got headaches for weeks. We had to do a deep clean of the entire apartment which I didn't complain too much about because it was the cheapest place I could find. But now, a year after I've moved out, a collection agency is asking for $800 for cleaning and damages. If you think you'll save some money by living here, think again. Also several times had drunk or drugged up people in my stairs and hallway.

All potential fees and charges associated with move-out were clearly outlined in your lease agreement. Please know, we are under new management and are actively working to improve the community. This place is the absolute worst!!! Awful customer service- never prompt. Litter is everywhere, and you never feel safe! We are living with BED BUGS! because no one feels the need to address the problem!!! DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!
