I am getting my a place with my future husband
We recently lived in Mark Twain and we loved how close we were to the Jordan River Parkway. The apartments are spacious, though nonetheless old. Two major points which gave us reason to move out was:
-We had a persistent mold problem which was treated apathetically until we pestered management multiple times, in spite of the mold causing me significant health issues. Responsibility to resolve the mold problem should have been centered on maintenance and management; however, the "cleanup" was left to us until we reported the issue multiple times when serious cleanup was finally done. We should not of had to report the issue so many times before something as serious as mold was taken care of.
-Smokers in the complex who were a constant nuisance. I totally understand how Mark Twain is not a smoke-free community; however, they still have to abide by Utah Clean Air building codes, and no matter how many times we reported smokers who were constantly smoking within 25 feet of the building (many times right in front of the entryway) nothing was really done, no eviction notices were posted. It got to the point where we found it completely pointless to keep reporting to management because clearly nothing significant was being done, even though our lease agreement (which every resident signs) specifies that if smoking becomes a nuisance, it can be a cause of eviction.
In short, our reason to leave greatly overrode the incentive and convenience of staying. This is a complex we will never return to reside.
Very professional staff, very clean Apts and the grounds are kept up. I would highly recommend the Apts
The management at Mark Twain is very bad. The two main ladies are quite condescending and unapproachable. The AC freezes often and when I asked for help fixing the problem, they told me simply, not to use it. The toilets were not flushing and after blaming me for the problem, they were unable to fix them so the problem has persisted for 6 months. Another problem with this place is that they like to randomly and frequently search your apartment and they are very rude while doing so. If you are considering moving here, I reccomend you go somewhere else.
