What Renters Like and Dislike About University of Houston

The intimate small manufactured home park is a unique and friendly setting. It is a great area for all types of residents to live. Just about all types of services and business are within one mile of our park.

The neighborhood is well kept by all residents. Friendly. We have clean parks and streets. Everyone watches out for everyone else. Low crime.

My neighborhood has wide streets, a good homeowners association with lots of amenities. The neighborhood has good neighbors.

I like most about my neighborhood is the friendliness of the neighbors. There are close-by restaurants that provide a wide variety of ethnic foods. Additionally, there are nearby sports centers that provide everything from pre-season Major League Baseball games to tennis courts.

Mostly families and older couples live here. There are numerous resturants nearby with theaters and groceries. We like outdoor activities and there are lakes and river with desert offroad areas very close.

Nice neighbors, close to lots of things like stores, freeway great places to eat doctors offices close too

All About

Living in University of Houston, TX

The University of Houston, which has become Texas' third largest university, brings student living to the excitement of southeastern Houston, where it has educated students since 1927. The institution officially became a university in 1933, a state university in 1963, and in 2011 reached another milestone when it was listed in the Carnegie Foundation's top category of research institutions. Today, UH is one of only three top-tier state research universities in Texas. Student housing in the area allows young scholars from around the country and the world to experience the unique lifestyle offered by a university apartment in Houston.

Nearly 32,000 undergraduates and more than 8,000 graduate students reside in a university apartment or dormitory as they pursue their studies in a wide variety of fields at the University of Houston. The institution offers more than 300 degree programs in its 12 academic colleges, including 112 bachelors, 131 masters, 54 research doctorates, and three professional doctorate degrees in law, optometry and pharmacy. In addition, part of student living at UH includes access to more than 40 research centers and institutes on campus that the university operates.

Because only about 15 percent of University of Houston students live on campus, off campus housing in the surrounding community is in high demand. Many university apartments are available throughout the area for students of UH and its neighbor, Texas Southern University. The neighborhood borders MacGregor Park and the tributaries that wind through it.
