Initially founded in 1973 but earning its permanent status in 1983, the University of Houston - Victoria (UHV) became the fourth institution in the University of Houston system. In addition to its main campus in Victoria, UHV contains satellite teaching centers in Cinco Ranch and Sugar Land.
