very good place to live!
Liked what I saw and is a strong contender on my list of potential homes.
I'm looking for a 2/2 handicap accessible unit available now and if you take section 8
I believe everyone should be aware of our experience before considering moving into Melia apartments. We moved in November 20th, 2020 and it has been a nightmare since we moved in. Initially we werent allowed to see the apartment until after we signed the lease which seemed like a red flag but we were told our renovated apartments was ready to move into, which was indeed false.
Our renovated apartment isnt quite renovated, the cabinets are old and crooked, our new bedroom door has a hole in it, we have broken light fixtures and our air system has been broken since day one.
We had been living for over a month with no AC/heater. A cold front passed for a couple of weeks, and our apartment had been below 50 degrees to freezing temperatures. We were promised portable heaters and *maintenance services but the staff at Melia didnt keep their word. Now that the temperatures are rising, it is too hot to sleep at night even with a fan in use.
What is also disgusting about living here is the infestation of large rats. Weve had to throw out food because of the infestation. Rats arent the only issue as we have came across roaches. Its ridiculous having to pay for a pest service fee when they cannot provide the service.
The property manager has tried getting maintenance to help us with our issue but the rest of the staff have bad attitude, theyre unprofessional, disrespectful and incompetent. The maintenance team has came into our apartment to basically leave a mess and get nothing done. We left out of town for a week and came back to our downstairs restroom defecated by a staff member.
Living at these apartments has left us hopeless about living comfortably in our home and it is only the beginning for us. I would hate to learn that other people might experience the same issues as we have. It is utterly absurd.
I lived at Melia for just over a year. Ive never had a more frustrating experience. Bug treatment fees are non-optional, but I had roaches in my apt. from day 1 to final move out. The public laundry was always broken, infested with bugs, and literally had a stray cat living in the space between the wall and the washers for 6 months. That cat was getting better service than I was.
Need a package delivered to the office? They wont inform you that it has arrived and then theyll lose it. Pothole in the parking lot? Over a year and never addressed. Water pipe burst and flooding the surrounding apartments and landscape? Give it 3 months, maybe itll be fixed. Need help from the management? Use their handy online form and never hear anything back. If you're frustrated with the lack of feedback you get with the online form, try calling or visiting the front office. But wait, the office closes before you get off work and the management never calls you back, perpetuating a cycle of avoidance and near misses. I hope you dont do your laundry at night or on Sundays because the machines run on proprietary pay cards, and if you need to put money on the card the only machine to do so is in the front office. Just check the office hours, you say? Makes sense, except that the office hours on the front of the building are actually wrong, causing dozens of tenants to confusedly knock on windows or leave frustrated voice mails. If you actually do end up talking to a human being make sure you get everything they say in writing. If its not in writing, they will go back on their word, then slap you with fees. The entire establishment seems to have a hostile attitude towards their tenants. Check your lease, be litigious, expect no empathy or conciliatory action. Do not trust face-to-face human interaction with these people or you too will end up paying thousands in fees for poor communication.
It may look cheap, but you will pay for this place in other, more infuriating ways.
