Welcome To Retreat at Shadow Creek Ranch Apartments!
Used to be, you had to choose: The serenity of nature or the excitement of the city. Not anymore. Now "wide open spaces" and "urban places" coexist at The Retreat at Shadow Creek Ranch. Here you'll enjoy scenic lakes, miles of hike and bike trails, and the Main Street charm of Pearland Town Center, yet just 10 miles to the north are all the urban enticements of Houston; professional sports venues, performing arts halls, world-class shopping, and major employment centers. This is where life is in balance: Nature and Culture, Outdoors and Uptown, Starry Nights and City Lights. This is Wide Open Urban.

The management is a turn-off. Such a shame because it really is a beautiful complex but dealing with the office manangement makes it not as pleasant.
The garbage is the biggest problem with only one available for the whole building. The design is not user friendly I mean on high winds the door can slam your face and please two small recyclables. Our condo of 30 residents before have trash capacity 2X than the Retreat. The design also speaks of what's inside the house: poor materials quality, inferior designs i.e. questionable faucet design in bath tub, rough edges on kitchen top . i felt that this building was rushed.
The lighting fixtures seem to have a shortage I in them. Light bulbs go out quickly don't last long at all. Walls are very thin. Can hear neighbors use the toilet and everything else. Trash compactor is always overflowing. Rent has gone up after only a year of living here. Hallways are never swept.
My two complaints are: (1) They need to enforce rules about picking up after your dog and also include more stands for trash bags and trash cans. (2) the trash/recycle bins are just terrible...always trash in the recycle bin. Both should be marked better. As a new resident, I was confused about how it worked. Didn't even realize they had a trash compactor.
Maintenance is slow to respond to request.
