Parker College of Chiropractic, TX

Parker University, originally known as Parker College of Chiropractic, is a health-focused university in Dallas, Texas. The school was founded in 1982 by Dr. James W. Parker, who had managed 18 chiropractic practices in the Lone Star State prior to beginning chiropractic seminars. Parker opened with a class of just 25 students, though enrollment has multiplied to nearly 1,000 pupils, who occupy student housing throughout the area. Student living in Dallas provides a wealth of entertainment and cultural attractions, while the university provides a lengthy list of academic resources that draw many students to nearby student housing. In 2011, the school was certified as a university, becoming the second chiropractic college to make this transition in the past 12 years.

Those who reside in Parker University student housing may receive training at the Dallas campus, as well as nearby wellness clinics, one of which is located in Flower Mound, Texas. Through the Parker Chiropractic Wellness clinics, students are able to provide care to the public as they complete their degree. The school also operates the Parker University Animal Clinic for animal chiropractic care, as well as the Parker University School of Massage Therapy. With its new university designation, the school now offers bachelors and masters degree programs in areas such as Nutrition, Sports Management and Public Health.

Off campus housing in Dallas puts students in touch with each of these resources, as well as the city's own plentiful offerings. Parker University apartments area available just miles from downtown Dallas, and near a host of bars and restaurants near Walnut Hill Lane.
