The Barons Apartment Homes in the heart of Mesquite, Texas, lies within walking distance to Town East Mall, Retail District, a variety of restaurants and just blocks away from the Mesquite Rodeo, Dallas Regional Medical Hospitals, AMC 30 Theaters, The Marketplace at Town Centre, and so much more.
So upon living here for a few months I can say that when it comes to cleanliness of outside on trash days its very informal. There is a lot of hidden fees when it comes to paying for utilities. They say trash is free but you get charged 10$ a month on top of that you have to pay the city of mesquite for trash disposal which is another hidden fee. Upon first moving in I noticed that a lot of the former damages of the previous tenant were just painted over. If you accidentally break an appliance you will be forced to be pay for it even though you didnt mean too. The places is over crowded. Space is too overpriced for such a small apartment. I highly recommended renting a house for the amount you pay here. If you barely touch the wall with your shirt, your pants or anothing really it will scrape and leave instant stains because the paint is so fake.
Young mid/upper twenty y/o, moved in to the Barons in early 2017. Staff has since gone down the drain. The turnover rate is extremely high. I do not recognize a single staff member at the club house from when I first moved in 10 months ago. There are new rules implemented all the time, none of which are followed appropriately. Trash is left everywhere! Gym equipment is falling apart and half the dumbbells have been stolen...Please save yourself a lot of heart ache by avoiding this place.
Currently, this apartments do not even deserve a single star. Stay away as far as you can. Yesterday, I woke up around midday to check on my 2 year old twins and a black snake came out of my babies room slithering on the floor towards the kitchen. Chills ran through my spine and I was traumatized by the fact that the snake was in my babies room. We called the leasing office several times but nobody picked the phone. We left an emergency voice mail and that was not returned either. After my husband had finally killed the snake, My husband decided to drive to the leasing office, only to find out that 2 management staff were in the office and yet nobody was picking up the phone calls whatsoever. Needless to say, the so called manager told my husband that the mentenance guy will come take a look at the apartment and that the pest control will not be coming to carry out any pest prevention measures until 2 weeks as of now. About 30 minutes later nobody had showed up and I decided to drive to the leasing office myself. As I explained the terrifying situation to the manager, she stood there stone cold, looking at me as though having a snake in my babies room was suppose to be normal and didn't matter to her whatsoever. As I kept telling her that this was an emergency situation and someone needed to come to the apartment ASAP, she paid me no mind and made no effort to escalate the matter to where we could get immediate help. Instead, she told me that the mentenance guy we show up whenever he can to check on the matter. This is not just a snake in the house, it is a major safety issue that needed to be taken care of immediately. The manager was extremely rude and showed no urgency at all in addressing the situation. I took it upon myself to go and look for the maintenance guy and told him to leave what he was doing and come with me because there is a snake in our apartment. The manager is worthless. The apartments are not safe at all.
I had a GREAT TIME at our resident event tonight
Avoid this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!
