office staff is great and the maintenance caters to my time to repair things
I enjoy living In the quiet community. Friendly neighbors. I feel safe with my kids. I would refer to friends.
Shady office staff, can never get in contact with property manager, service requests get looked over while maintenance is on property hanging out with residents, Trashy neighbors, multiple broken down cars in parking lot, theyll say you didnt pay rent when you actually did and have proof and then still hit you with a late fee, Old, they rent out apartments with damaged carpet and counters, Honestly the only reason to move here is if you need a garage... other than that your better off somewhere else. OH! lets not forget the domestic disturbances where your neighbor kicks out his girlfriend at 2-3am and she just beats and screams at his door and nobody does anything about it even after calling to complain
First, they try to charge way more for rent than they are worth. If they try telling you that you have to pay any more than $800 for rent on a 1 bed room, there are luxury apartments that are $1000 ten minutes east of here.
Second, there are roaches. I have no idea where they come from, but they will always be there no matter how clean you keep your place.
Third, make sure if you do rent here that you document every conversation and the initial conditions of the apartment very carefully. They will nickel and dime you for any damage no matter how small. If you talk to them in the office, they'll tell you one thing and then completely ignore what they told you.
Also, be very careful on move out. The agent at the apartment went through my final walkthrough without saying a word to me and at the end tried to get me to sign a form that said that all the damages have been explained to me and that I waive my right to contest any damages and agree to the price as deemed necessary by them. So just be careful yo read everything that they give you to sign.
Also, be prepared for the ac to not work fully. The ac will kick on but will only get you to about 78-85 degrees in the summer. Not sure why, maybe the insulation in the old buildings needs to be changed, but its a thing everyone I talked to agreed with. Maintenance won't be able to fix it.
Lastly, its not all negative. Overall, its a quiet and friendly place to live. Not any trouble with neighbors or the community. Its right next to mason which has a lot of options for food, and right next to a walking trail and park that is really nice.
I leased an apartment at Kingston Villas in Katy, TX for a little over a year. I loved living there and about 2 months ago bought a house and moved out. Moving out and terminating has been a horrible experience. I have been charged for things that make no sense and I have been requesting a call and I emailed the manager and to this day, have not received an email or call from the office manager. it will be 2 months on September 29th, since I moved. Every time I call to speak with her she is not there and the assistant manager has not called me either. I have asked questions that have still been unanswered and I tried speaking with them and getting everything resolved before it went onto my credit report. This is not the first resident this happens to.
