We chose this apartment because it was difficult to find a complex that would accept German Shepherds. Well, they know that, and they completely take advantage of you. There's a $450 "pet deposit" which is not a deposit at all but a massive fee that you will not get back. When we moved out, they charged us $800 in "pet damages". This was wrong, as we took very good care of our apartment and our dog is well-trained. I asked about the $450 deposit and they said that was just a fee you have to pay to have a dog in the apartment. I asked what was the $15 monthly pet rent for, and they said that was just another fee you have to pay to have a dog in the apartment.
They charged for holes in the wall, after they specifically told us we could "put as many holes in the wall as you want" and never mentioned we'd be charged later.
They force you to pay $50 a month for cable, which we never used one time.
When you move out, you have to pay to have the carpets professionally cleaned. They told me I could pay them $150 for them to have the carpets cleaned, and I agreed. Then afterwards when they charged me $800 to replace the carpets I asked if I could have the $150 refunded since the carpets were apparently beyond cleaning. They said they could credit $50 but that the other $100 was just a general cleaning fee (which if I had known I would not have paid) and they refused to refund. So basically I was forced to pay to both clean and replace the carpets.
These people are truly deceitful and will do everything they can to get more money out of you. I was very surprised at how blatantly dishonest and completely unforgiving and unwilling to help they were.
Also you will not get your $200 damage deposit back. If possible, I would recommend staying away.
Have lawn people pick up leaves they never do and pile up on my entry way.
I feel like the staff with the new management company has improved. They have been very helpful. Make ready could be improved before they allow people to move in. It is great that they are making improvements it the parking lot. If the second phase was as updated and as nice as the first phase. That would be a great improvement.
Have to run water for awhile to get hot water. Low water pressure in kitchen sink. Landscaping needs improving-dead trees, dead shrubs and plants. Occasional water pipes leaking in courtyard areas.
Basketball half court, or at least hoop to practice shooting, somewhere in the complex
