You can trace the roots of Madera Residential back to 1991, but the story really started in 2008 when we bought our first apartment deal, The Lakes at Madera in Baytown, Texas. We received more than just our name from this property. We acquired it just before Hurricane Ike devastated the area in September 2008 followed by the financial crisis hitting in October of 2008. Looking back, this was a very challenging time for Madera Residential, but we now know the lessons we learned shaped who we are today.The most important lesson we learned is that by leaning into relationships and doing the right thing we can weather any storm. The proof of this is The Lakes at Madera ending up being a massively successful property. In April of 2010 we bought our second property with the help of the same investors that invested with us in The Lakes at Madera.Since then we have continued to aggressively grow our portfolio to where we are now considered an industry leader in the state of Texas. Our corporate office is located in Lubbock, Texas which we feel is a competitive advantage. My mother and I have lived here coming up on 10 years and since the new Owners took over two years ago, our rent has now skyrocketed year over year with zero improvements made to our two-bedroom apartment.$500 increase extra a month in a two-year span with zero, ZERO improvement's to the apartment, We even lost our old 6 FT privacy fence we used to have on first floor apartments, so anything on your patio is out in the open and easily stolen. They forced us to pay an additional pet fee when they took over for no reason. The main Receptionist is an extremely rude and condescending woman. The maintenance person doesn't know what he's doing. They patched a burst pipe in the wall with bondo, (Like you would use on a car) and drywall tape. The only redeeming quality of this place is that it's got cold AC (which they still haven't fixed in my neighbors' apartment, who moved in less than 6 months ago, and they told them they had to just buy a window unit) and it's a semi-quite neighborhood.

I can't even remember how long we've lived here now now its just me, my husband and our one dog and I'd say at this point we are settled in and hope not to move the manager in the front office Ms . Hawkins is very smart and always on top of things

Office won't return emails with my inquiries at all. Whenever I see a 4 bedroom I reach out without response from them.

The building are nice, and price is acceptable. Otherwise some apartments come with one asigned parking spot some come with two, you dont get a choice if it is a two spot one you will pay for it. Office people are often rude and condescending in their demeanor, even if your just turning in you rent. The maintenance staff likes to notify you like other apartments do but late at night the day before they plan to come in. Office staff notifies you the will be coming Into your apartment at sometime over a 2 week period with maintenance to check the fire alarms. They showed up 4 days after that 2 week period. Theyre not there to check the fire alarm, its to check to see if your incompliance with the way they think you should live. Also dont bother leaving messages for the office people they never return them, maintenance will return the call.
