All About

Living in Deer Park, TX

Those searching for an apartment in the Houston area have a number of options, each with a different hallmark and appeal. The city, with its promising economy rooted in the energy industry, has produced a network of communities that are close enough to keep Houston's fun and excitement within reach, but far enough away to develop their own unique character. Those who rent apartments in Deer Park, Texas are part of a community that owes its personality to an important piece of Texas and American history.

Deer Park apartments are located where the Battle of San Jacinto was fought roughly two centuries ago. This important battlefield marks the spot where Texas won its independence from Mexico on April 21, 1836. The actual surrender treaty was signed in the cabin of Dr. George Moffitt Patrick, near where many Deer Park apartments stand today. While the cabin is gone, a replica currently stands in front of the Theater/Courts Building on Center Street, so that those renting apartments in Deer Park can relive their town's history.

Because of this important historical detail, Deer Park has earned the nickname, "The Birthplace of Texas." Gazing at the prosperous town while searching for a Deer Park apartment to rent, its hard to imagine that the town held just four houses as recently as 1922. Today, nearby oil refineries and local businesses keep the town going strong - now with more than 9,000 homes, including many Deer Park apartments.
