We were tenants at The Dylan for 6 years. We lived through 2 management companies, 2 rounds of major renovations, and a revolving door of office staff.The Dylan was a better place to live prior to the new management company coming into the picture. The property is poorly built--windows leak continuously (this has been an ongoing issue for years), doors don't close properly, walls have major cracks, and the granite countertops have come loose all from the building shifting. We had water that would constantly pour in and pool by our front door when it rained (the office never did anything about it), and we'd even have leaks around our top story can lights during storms (again, nothing was ever done). The landscaping in front of our unit had been dying for years, and we had a serious carpenter ant infestation which took several months and empty promises of "we'll send pest control out in a few weeks" to resolve. When you're paying $2400 in rent a month, you expect things to be taken care of shortly after they're reported.
By the time we moved out, our rent had almost doubled from what it was when we moved in. The quality of the property is not worth the rent price.
The day we moved out, no one was available to do a walk through of our unit with us (despite us filling out our move out paperwork, including scheduling a walk through 60 days prior as requested by The Dylan). The temp who was staffing the office that day told us to come back the following day. When we came back the next day, the manager told us she "didn't have time to walk through" with us as she had already walked through earlier in the day. She verbally went over what needed to be repaired, but could not provide us with anything in writing at the time. She also acted like we were majorly inconveniencing her for even wanting to walk through. I'm sorry, even though we were moving out (we did live there for 6 years), that's just terrible customer service.
But hey, the location is great.
The Dylan is just the right size! Everyone is respectful of each other and it is a peaceful community to live in.
So far it's going good. I don't care for the touch up painting that was done. It's really visible during the day and when the lights are on.
The Dylan is by far one of the better apartments I've lived at. The staff is very friendly and helpful and quick to help out the tenants without any attitude. Very professional. The maintenance guys were constantly working taking care of everyone's needs. The building is quiet. Thank goodness. Simply put, I love the Dylan
Would not recommend at all to anyone.
