This place went from a beautiful, safe property begging for a second chance to an overpriced dump. New management took over at the end of 2017. Which means they've had a year to get it together and as of Q4 2018, they had not. The entire property was/is under construction and while that brings challenges and inconveniences - the construction was/is not the problem. The new front office personnel was terrible - the worst I've seen in decades of renting. They don't know anything about reasonable living (let alone the luxury living) and they are rude. Prices are UP and I'm not sure what for?! It's not the service and the redone units aren't nice enough to command the asking prices. The redone apartments are slightly nicer but the entire living experience is down the drain. The materials in the upgrades are cheap - you can see that when viewing the new units in-person. Also, the apartments used to be soundproof prior the renovations. After they started "updating" you hear everything. Footsteps, talking voices, doors closing, TVs. The noises reverberated against the cheap materials used and the sounds carry. I talked to my neighbors and learned about constant leaking during rainstorms and mold - even in renovated units. It rains inside people's home - that's terrible. The review that says "it's one thing after another" really resonates with me. The office will tell you that it's all heading in the right direction but it's gotten worse and worse over the last year. The crowd that can be seen touring the property and moving in - questionable. Which is apparent from the way they behave in common areas (like the pool) and the lack of care of their cars. I'm not talking about driving a fancy car - I'm saying caring for your property and car in the most basic sense. This property had a long, good run and was begging for new life but the current attempt is a miss. For this price - there are beautiful new complexes going up all over. Look elsewhere for your next home.
I lived at the Caruth apartments for two years. Very nice place to live. I did have a problem with an appliance and it was replaced promptly.
