I am a current resident. The property and management is great however the only reason I am giving a one star is because they recently changed their parking policy . Each resident is supposed to have a parking pass, while that is fine it is extremely difficult to have friends and family visit you during weekdays between 7 am and 6 pm. They cannot get a ticket during those hours and you cannot scan your card multiple times and even for one time you have to go down to get them in.
The security does not care that you are a resident and they are your visitors nor the fact that you pay $150 a month for two cars to park in that narrow parking . I just find it ridiculous that there are restrictions on when your friends and family can visit as they wont be allowed to park in an apartment that you rent!
Gables Republic Tower is a great residential community with a superb staff, wonderful amenities, exciting resident events, and of course, great apartment living.

Love the complex, location, other residents, and office staff. Very nice pool area and common spaces . The ability to have guest parking is huge and uncommon for comparable places downtown.
Valet Trash is "required" but is more hassle than it's worth. I just take my trash to the trash chute.
Maintenance requests are awful. Have had many things go wrong... Dishwasher, sink leaking, deadbolts not working, A/C not working, bedroom fan stopped, etc. but that's not what bothers me. They are good for easy fixes, which are typically corrected on the next business day. However, I'm very annoyed the second a problem is not easy fix the requests are closed out as corrected when they are not. My experience has been these issues require multiple requests and waits of weeks to months before they're fixed. The soap door on my dishwasher was not opening so dishes weren't getting clean. This turned into 4 service requests, 2 months, and couple emails/office visits before it was replaced. 6 weeks into it, I was told the "wrong dishwasher" was shipped and 2 weeks after that a new one was installed. My living room window wasn't latching and would randomly blow open. Similarly to the dishwasher after 3 service requests, couple emails/office visits, and being told the "wrong handle" was shipped... I gave up trying to get it fixed after 3 months. It's still broken so I just use some rope tied around the handle to keep it pulled shut.
Like many places, packages must be picked up from office before it closes at 6:00pm. It's very nice that stay open till 7:00pm on Weds. In general I'm not a fan of this but not really any better options at other complexes.
Rooftop closes. I get not allowing people in the pool after a certain time, but would be nice if I could still go on the roof as it's the only outdoor space available.
As it stand now, I will not be resigning my lease which is a shame because I do like it
Maintenance could be better.
Great staff, clean and secure building. Residents make you feel like you are part if the family.
