Looks nice but the walls are super thin, parking is crazy if you want to invite people over, and towards the end of my stay they failed to keep up with spraying for critters.
I do not recommend living in Island Villa. While the office staff was very friendly and helpful during my experiences, the condition in which I found my apartment was beyond unacceptable to the point of dangerous. The exterior condition was poor: sidewalks that hadnt been cleaned in months, paint peeling off the stairway banisters, and fire sprinklers rusted over. On my front door, the handle was rusty, and instead of a number placard the number had been written on with a marker. In the kitchen, every surface was covered in an oily film. The cabinets were scratched and dirty, and one had a hole in it. The burners on the stove were warped. The door leading to the patio did not close. When pulled shut, it swung open again, resting with a gap between the door and the frame. The bolt itself did not work. The metalwork was in poor condition: rusted and peeling. In the master bedroom, the floors were also scuffed. They were warped and separated. Pet hair was caught in the corners. The blinds were broken. Paint had been dripped onto the floor. The faucet in the bathroom tub did not extend far enough to clear the hardware beneath it, splashing back out onto the side. All three front door locks were operational from the inside, but the keyed deadbolt was inoperable from the outside. The unit had two smoke detectors. When tested, neither one made any sound. I attempted to check the batteries by trying to pull open the battery tray and unscrew the detector from the ceiling, but was unable. It seemed as if they had been glued shut. The staff made it very easy for me to terminate my lease and refunded me everything I had already paid. The representative I spoke to claimed to have been present when the maintenance team had prepared the apartment for move in, but there were many minor and major discrepancies that went unnoticed. I strongly recommend that anybody looking to rent an apartment in Corpus Christi look somewhere else.
Have lived here since 2011 and its a great place to live!
All they care about is money coming in for each apartment. If you have any complaints about problem neighbors, they won't do anything and they are not very professional. I had to leave after living there 3 months because the upstairs neighbors, 3 men, were harassing me. I called the cops and had 3 police reports but the office refused to say anything to them.
