Live, Thrive and Unwind @ Flats on 12!
I have lived here at Flats on 12 since May this year. I am VERY happy. Every issue I've encountered has been resolved extremely quickly. I feel that the management does the best job with what they are given. This is by no mean a brand new property, but you pay for what you get, and I feel like I have received a lot of bang for my buck. The amenities are some of the best in town, without having to pay over $1000 for a one bedroom. I have lived at other places, but this has been my favorite. The company also keeps you really informed about what is going on. If there is ever anything going on, they let us know. Very happy with my home and the people who run it.
I have lived at the Flats on 12 apartments for a few years now. With the recent change of office management, I have noticed a remarkable improvement in the quality of service at these apartments...the office employees are very friendly and efficient. Answers to any relevant questions are given satisfactorily and quickly. Issues reported (e.g. needed maintenance in the apartment) are followed upon quickly and resolved in good time. I would recommend anyone to consider Flats on 12 as a good choice for accommodation within the College Station area.
They have recently changed the utilities to everyone splitting the property bill. I am one person, don't have a washer/dryer in my unit, only shower 1x per day and I never leave any lights on... I'm paying about $150 in utilities... while there are families with 6+ people living in one unit and have a washer/dryer jacking up the expenses for everyone else! There's a bad roach... bug... flea problem here. I hate this place so much. I'm not a hard person to please but I absolutely hate it. Computers in the lab and the printer don't work.. some of the cardio machines MIGHT work once in a while.. water is shut off nearly every week without warning.. the cable they provide dropped nearly all channels... hmm what else... OH the TAMU private shuttle no longer runs... there's more problems than this too. I wish I could give zero stars.
I have lived at Flats on 12 for a little over a year. My apartment has been flooded twice and had had water leaking from the ceiling destroying my rugs and curtains 4 times. I continually turn in request to have it repaired and the maintenance only paints over the problem and has not repaired it in over a year so you can imagine what it looked like after Hurricane Harvey. Now there is mold in my apartment in the dining room and bathroom. Last night, the cabinet, which I have spoken with maintenance about fell and broke the toilet and again my apartment was flooded with water. The maintenance is HORRIBLE! The management does not care about residents, only the renting apartments. Example...we were sent an email that they would check the empty apartments first, after the hurricane, instead of making the necessary repairs for those of us currently occupying an apartment....you see their priorities! Once you get in the apartment, they invite you to all types of community events and waste money but need to be taking that money to make the needed repairs instead of doing surface repairs to make things look good from the outside. When I walk to the parking lot, there is furniture that has been trashed from either people moving or maintenance clearing apartments...it is beginning to smell, rats are starting to come around, and it's just a horrible eye soar! Here are the issues in my apartment:
2. water damage
3. holes in ceiling which causes water to leak into apartment
4. new dishwasher will not drain
5. counter top installed inappropriately and is slanted
DO NOT MOVE HERE.....YOU WILL REGRET IT! If I could give a rating below POOR, I would give it to Flats on 12! The only positive thing I have to say is that these apartments are is a nice location which is why I moved there.
I wish I could Give ZERO stars for this place. I was very disappointed with management, clerical & maintenance. This place is Old, tubs are moldy. My daughter took over a lease where her prior tenant generously left a almost new microwave, mattress w\frame, a laundry card worth $20 plus & a vanity for laundry. The prior tenant had Spoke to management regarding this & left a note in the apartment (as well as my daughter). Mysteriously when we get there The apartment is Empty. We then proceeded to ask where the items were they said that "they didn't know what happen with the items". After going back and forth there was nothing we could do. There was no way of getting out of the lease, we had already paid & signed contract. Unfortunately my daughter had to stay there for the semester. That's not the worse part. The Apartments offered transportation to A&M...My daughter had no car...well she would receive messages during the middle of the day "sorry for the inconvenience, the shuttle will be out of service for maintenance" or in the early morning hours. I called Corporate office which helped NONE. The real reason was because the driver had quit and they did not care enough to hire someone for the remainder of the 2 months of the school season. I was 6 hours away & felt helpless. I was not the only parent that was concerned, many parents called, no change occurred. Also in the end my daughter was charged every fee they could come up with. I wish NOOOONE to stay here. If you do, I'll pray for you. That is all I did for that semester. My daughter is now staying in a gated, safer environment.
