overall updates to interior would help to equal out what the rent is to what the apt really gives back as far as appliances, flooring, counter tops and updated paint colors, entrance doors, air vents.
Very disappointed in the pool. It is not well maintained. Always leaves and twigs in the pool. Never any maintenance on the weekends. I am not sure if the ph and chlorine levels are checked on a regular basis.
Make the parking spaces bigger. I am tired of my little compact car getting hit or scratched.
We have faced rent increases the past two years (with last year's being a whopping $110 per month increase!), and yet we aren't getting any sort of new amenities or upgrades to our apartment as a result of the increases. With all of the brand new apartment complexes going up in Austin, our community is starting to look and feel dated in comparison. We are now forced into cable service, which significantly increases the rent here... and that wasn't the case when we first moved here in 2008. Our apartment was brand new and we found it to be very affordable when we first moved to Austin. In the years since, there has been gradual wear and tear (what with there being wall to wall carpeting, and the color choice for all of the walls) and for what we're seeing each year in rent increases, it seems like the apartments could use some sprucing up). We also have louder neighbors than we used to (there's been a LOT of turnover here in the past two years!) and more dogs barking at night while their owners are out. While we feel comfortable in our apartment and enjoy the pool in the summer, the location is not ideal and the rising rent is making buying a house in a more central location seem like a smarter option in the long run.
We are very happy here
