This complex is being run into the ground. Lived here going on 3 years, and I will not be renewing. This place has really dropped in quality in the last 15 months.
They raise the rent every year and fix NOTHING. They have made the grounds less attractive. it used to be ivy coated, and tree lines but they have removed large swaths of foliage which makes it SO much hotter. Wouldn't be a problem if the a.c. worked, but one cannot have their bedroom doors shut in order for it to cool. I'm talking 88 degrees in your bedroom. Our master bath reached 94 last summer.
water temp is irregular at best, every single pipe in our building shrieks like a ghost lives in them. Laundry is always broken, or destroys clothes. It's an outside company and the office refuses to get involved. If you have a problem, you have to call the rental company. A washer has been broken for 7 months, despite community forum posts about it, and with at least 3 people calling to harass the outside company at least 3 times over.
Bikes have been getting stole for the past 2 weeks. Instead of installing cameras, or maybe trying to put up community barriers (which the promised when we moved in 3 years ago] they passed out paper slips telling us to keep our bikes inside.
TLDR; Too expensive for the absolute disregard the office has for its rentees. They need some serious renovations for the price they ask. Too high of temps due to bad A.c. units, haunted water pipes, water inconsistent in temp, laundry facilities are a joke.
neighborhood is lovely, as is the apartments proximity to many restaurants and Pillow Elemantary.
Almost every cliche of the incompetent or dishonest landlord, I experienced here.
The units may look remodeled, but it's just cosmetic. It's old, cheap construction underneath. Maybe this isn't an issue if you don't care about bugs, reliable running water, or heating/cooling bills.
There were six or seven different managers in the three years I lived here. Do not assume that what one of them tells you will ever be honored by anyone else. Get it in writing and still don't take it for granted. Example: when I moved in, the manager told me that they would paint one accent wall during the make-ready if I provided the paint. When I asked, she explicitly said that I did not have to repaint before I left; that I should return the apartment in the condition it was leased to me, which is to say with one painted wall. Lo and behold when I moved out they tried to charge me, claimed no knowledge of the complex ever having such an arrangement (the first manager told me it was standard), and I had to fight them and refuse to pay it. It was something stupid like $250 by the way. One wall.
The property assistants have also been useless. One woman in particular took so long to respond to a friend of mine whom I was trying to add to the lease that he ran out of time and had to move somewhere else. She kept promising to follow up with him and never did. Needing a roommate, I found a couple of women who seemed reliable, but when they had brought some stuff over (before signing the lease) I ended up having to tell them they could not move in and I'd let them know when I was home that day so they could get their stuff. The property assistant let them into my apartment, these people with no legal right to be there, whom she didn't know and who were mad at me, and let them carry out whatever they wanted when I wasn't home. That woman later got promoted because that is the quality of employee they have.
So many more stories but that's the idea. Incompetence, dishonesty, sloppiness.
