Spanning eight campuses and 12 learning centers, The Austin Community College District is one of the largest institutions of higher learning in the state. The network of schools provides student living in eight Central Texas counties, and its enrollment recently topped 41,000 for-credit students. Austin Community College first opened in 1973, and has earned a respected position in the Greater Austin area. Expecting further expansion, the institution will open two additional campuses in 2013, thereby increasing its already plentiful options for student living.
