Art Institute of Dallas, TX

The Art Institute of Dallas, one of more than 50 affiliated art schools in North America, is a popular destination for students interested in careers in design, media arts, fashion and the culinary arts. The institution traces its roots to 1964, when it was founded as the Dallas Fashion Merchandising College and joined The Art Institute network in 1984. Today, many of the aspiring artists at the school rent student housing in North Dallas to manage their courses and make their lifestyles more convenient. A college apartment in Dallas places students in a unique and thriving city that has many resources to offer to students in the arts.

Though the Art Institute of Dallas is a specialty school, it invites a heterogeneous population of individuals to reside in student housing and work toward a degree in the arts. While enrolled, students may work in diploma programs, or complete credits toward an associates or bachelor’s degree. Furthermore, academic concentrations run the gamut of the art world, including disciplines like fashion design, baking and pastry, digital film making and video production, graphic design, animation and advertising. Approximately 1,700 students enroll at the institution, which offers evening and weekend programs for continuing education, as well as several options for student housing.

Many students at the Art Institute of Dallas elect to rent off campus housing during their period of study. A college apartment near Park Lane, where the campus sits, places students among such attractions as the local mall, Gordon Biersch, Bistro N and the Museum of Biblical Art.
