Love living at Novel Bellevue Place ! Never have I been taken care of like the staff here at Novel takes care of us ! Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone !
On August 19 my husband and I were shown a three bedroom apartment at Novel. We applied for the apartment on August 21. A leasing agent called and asked for check stubs and drivers licenses to be emailed. I sent them within the hour. I did not receive a response. I called on August 22 to make sure the documents were received. The leasing agent said she received the email, but one of the attachments did not go through. It would have been nice if she had called to tell me that. So, I promptly resent the attachments. Days passed. I called to check the status. I was told that there was a problem with my background check. Someone with my maiden name (a name I have not used for 20 years) was arrested in Kentucky for felony drug charges and they needed to make sure it was not me. I assured them it was not me and asked what the next steps were. I was told that if the background company says the felony was committed by me, then it is true and I am a felon and that is the end of it. I was spoken to as if I am a criminal. No amount of logic was applied to the situation. I can most certainly prove that I have a full time job and worked a full time schedule and have never been incarcerated or arrested.
Finally on September 4, 15 days later, we were approved. This was an extremely stressful time as our home had sold and the closing date was nearing. The leasing agents were not helpful and gave lots of excuses; someone was on vacation for five days, Labor Day occurred, the background company is slow. It was a terrible experience but the upside is that we previously had not looked at other apartments and this 15 day waiting period prompted us to seek alternatives and we found a lovely place to stay for $600/month less. The home we chose had our background check done in less than 2 hours and the entire application to lease took less than 48 hours. I will never know what it is like live at Novel, but the leasing agents are unprofessional, unhelpful , unkind and not deserving of us
