Acklen has it's positive and negative qualities. Acklen has very nice amenities and spacious apartments that are up to date. I have never had a problem with bugs or a major utility emergency. However, I do not believe that the new leasing company does a great job of upkeep in terms of amenities. My main complaint is that Acklen is overpriced for the neighborhood and quality it presents

The building is in a great location and has a lot of really well designed amenities. The staff are always friendly and the cares team on site creates a really warm atmosphere for the residents. The corridors are a little loud due to the concrete floors, and while the apartment is very dog friendly, some residents let their dogs use the non designated areas, which is disappointing. Overall though, a really comfortable building to live in.

I came to Nashville with a lease signed somewhere else and due to some unforeseen circumstances, it didn't work out for me to live there. I found Acklen Apartments, signed a lease and moved in within 4 hours. The leasing staff was more than amazing and accommodating. I am so happy that my first living situation didn't work out because I love it here so much. The amenities are incredible, the location is perfect and my apartment is so nice. I feel so lucky to be living here!

I would not recommend Acklen West End. I have lived in two different apartments in this building, and at the end of my lease I will have been here for 26 long months. Ostensibly, this seems like a good place to live if youre looking to be close to downtown, Vanderbilt, etc. However, the management is insufferablecompletely unresponsive unless heavily prodded, and acts as if the residents are an impositionnot what youd expect from a building that purports itself as a luxury complex. Moreover, the building staff are grossly negligent, and have entered my apartment for inspections 3 times in the past 5 months, leaving my door unlocked, for anyone to walk in, not once, but two times. Going forward, I will have to inconvenience myself to ensure that I am present for any further redundant inspections, because I know Acklen has no regard for the security of their residents.

As others have stated, the building is cheaply constructed, and you will hear every single thing that goes on in the apartments above and around you. I hear when my upstairs neighbor wakes up at 5:05 AM every morning to go to work; I hear when shes on the phone, planning her upcoming vacation. Therefore, these apartments are not conducive to anyone who will be needing a quiet environment for studying.

In short, look elsewhere. I chose to renew my lease after the first year only because I am finishing my graduate medical education in the area, and my schedule did not accommodate a move. However, there are so many new, better buildings in the area, with comparable amenities, and they all price match. Save yourself the headache.
