If I could give -5 stars I would. Ive lived in Summerlake for 8 months and it has not been a pleasurable experience. I will say that the best part is that its quite and inexpensive.
However, the staff with exception of one (Megan) are beyond rude. Several residents are unhappy with the management and maintenance team. If you need to get in contact with the office youll need to call at least 12 times before anyone answers. Customer service is obsolete. On more than one occasion Ive been yelled at after making a simple request. The apartments and equipment are outdated and thats exactly what you will be told if you make a complaint or need something fixed. Nothing will be fixed only patched; if the patch doesnt work they wont be happy to come out again. Also be ready to clean up the mess once maintenance leaves because they wont. I went months without sufficient heat and the initial response was sorry, this place is really old. You may want to look up hydro heat. Ive lived in a few different apartments and this by far is the absolute worse. Theres also trash everywhere because no one employed is going to pick it up and on any given day the dumpster(trash compactor) looks like a trash barge. Dont just take my word for it look at the other poor reviews.
We really love our new home at SummerLake. Megan the leasing agent is a true definition of hospitality and AWESOMENESS
The manager here is a nightmare. Everytime I've had to talk to her it escalates into a screaming match. My apartment is so infested with roaches and other bugs that I had to throw out my $130 Kuerig when I opened it up one day and roaches ran out leaving 30 or 40 teeny tiny little white specs in there. It's not a big stretch to assume they were newly born roaches inside my coffee machine. I've asked to be released from my lease, but they have so far neglected to allow it. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE!!
If you like sharing your entire living space with brown recluse spiders, squirrels that live in your roof, and being able to hear entire conversations that your neighbors have above you, then this is the place for you. You can call the front office about anything and they'll answer, but they give you no sympathy. I have an email proving that they started pest treatment before we moved in, and they still allowed us to live here. They offered to move us into a different apartment a month after moving in, but breaking our lease was not an option. The apartment is poorly insulated, so in the summers it's hot, and in the winters it stays no higher than 60 degrees in the apartment. The maintenance staff blames it on the thermostat being read a few degrees off at all times. If it's not brown recluse spiders, it's cockroaches, if it's not cockroaches, it's hearing every step your upstairs neighbors take including their three dogs, or the dumpster being overflown into the street, a squirrel living in the roof, the unbearable temperature, your bathroom mirror falling off the wall, or the terrible search for a parking spot that makes this a way overpriced living situation.
Do not rent here. They do not maintain the complex, maintenance never completes any work request, bugs and spiders are everywhere. The units are disgusting and not maintained. NUMEROUS service request were ignored: Missing smoke alarms, missing sink and tub stops, spiders, dish washer leaks, missing microwave cover, black dust shoots out of ac into apartment, nothing was repaired. Extremely dirty apartment, bad smell to it.
